Summer Term Update Primary Physical Education & Sport

The Marches Academy Trust to take part in national MAT pilot. The Marches Academy Trust are excited to be taking part in a national pilot with the Well Schools, run by the Youth Sport Trust. Well Schools aims to help improve education outcomes by placing wellbeing at its very heart to support school staff, senior leaders and young people. It isn't a programme, quality mark or intervention; it's all of us coming together to drive change, share challenges and solutions and help find support. What is a Well School? A Well School places just as much emphasis on wellbeing as it does on academic performance. It understands that children and young people are more effective learners when they are happy and well and that they must take care of their staff and their pupils wellbeing to create a culture that allows everyone to reach their potential.

The FA’s focus is to help girls become more physically active with improved well-being, increased physical literacy of five to eight year-olds and help all girls develop the confidence and competence to play football at school and in a community setting.

Primary Physical Education Awards 2022 On Tuesday 5th July saw our Marches Academy Trust primary schools come together for the Trust’s Primary PE and School Sports Awards. The celebration took place at Shrewsbury School and had a star-studded line up of guest attendees in gold Commonwealth Games medallist Nicky Hunt, who gave an inspirational talk to the audience and Ryan Jervis OBE, who was our fabulous host for the evening. This was a brilliant opportunity for all the Trust primary schools to come together and celebrate the successes of our pupils, staff and the forward steps as schools we have all taken to further improve our PE and sports provision this year. A huge congratulations to all!
