The estimated one billion people living with disabilities worldwide face many barriers to inclusion in many key aspects of society.
As a result, people with disabilities do not enjoy access to society on an equal basis with others, which includes areas of transportation, employment, and education as well as social and political participation.
However, the students with disabilities at Sir John Talbot’s School don’t let their disabilities stop them from achieving their goals and reaching their potential.
What condition do I have -
• I was diagnosed with Cerebral palsy at the age of 18 months this means that I have problems with my brain and problems with my muscles. My muscles get tighter as I get older and I now need a wheelchair to get about.
• In 2014 when I was in hospital I went for physio and they told me that I need to do more so I went back to my hospital bed and the person next to me said ‘Why don’t you join Shrewsbury Town in the community?’ and so the adventure of a lifetime begun ………
What is means to me?
• When I first joined Shrewsbury I realised I could play football because I never thought I could do before they adapted the sessions for my ability. They Make it possible to do a sport I thought I couldn't do before.
• Within my first session I managed to meet Shrewsbury town first team player Nathanael Knight Percival I was so pleased and it meant so much to me I thought they couldn’t do much more. But later I did find out they come every year and I got the pleasure of meeting the manager.
• I got to play competitive games for STFCIC as a centre back and I wasn’t even interested in it. It was that moment I knew that I would be obsessed with football forever.
Work experience for me Shrewsbury Town foundation

It affects the nerves for sensitivity ( CALLED SENSORY NEURONS ), it affects how his body functions, this leads to irregular heart beat, breathing problems, constipation, reduce response to pain, it is a NEUROGENIC CONDITION. Ben would get numbness of his limbs, pins and needles and weakness in his limbs. Ben was born naturally and after 8 months he started to walk.

Ben’s Shrewsbury town experience by Ben’s
dad – Mr Everson
As the years went by Ben’s weakness in his limb got weaker and he ended up not walking and he was full time in a wheelchair this effected Bens mental health. So me and Bens mum started to look for somewhere he could go and play sports in his wheelchair to see if this would make his mental health better, that’s when we heard of Shrewsbury town foundation. When Ben went for his fist time he was scared and worried that he would be too disabled to go and he would not be excepted. But when he meet Mark Bull and Mark introduced his self to Ben told Ben how he could play football in his wheelchair the smile on Bens face was just amazing. Me and my life saw Ben’s confidence grow him just being excepted in a game of football it was the most incredible thing I have ever seen, a life changing thing that abled bodied people take for granted, but something we will never forget.
