Intellian’s GX100NX Antenna Gains Inmarsat Approval Antenna systems specialist Intellian has received product approval from Inmarsat for the new GX100NX antenna. This follows excellent results achieved during recent testi ng at Inmarsat’s facility in Ålesund, Norway, followed by a successful sea trial. The next-generati on GX100NX antenna supports 2.5GHz Ka wideband networks out of the box and is supplied with a 5W BUC as standard, with the opti on to upgrade to a high-power 10W unit. This makes the GX100NX upgradable and futureproof for Inmarsat’s next generati on high-capacity, high-speed constellati on and future network upgrades. Extensive sea trials demonstrated the signifi cant advances over previous GX100 models, with faster satellite acquisiti on and a staggering 1dB (25%) signal increase.

Damen Develops BWT Ex Deckhouse Able to Withstand Wave Slamming
Damen has developed standard Ballast Water Treatment Ex certi fi ed deckhouses. Because of the 8mm wall thickness, these deck houses are able to withstand wave slamming forces and can be placed on the open deck of a tanker vessel. Each deckhouse is delivered as a pre-assembled soluti on, including the ballast water treatment system with all internal piping and wiring, for easy integrati on into the vessel. The deckhouse is a ‘plug and play’ soluti on, with the absolute minimum of downti me for the vessel in the repair yard. The deckhouses meet the requirements of the classifi cati on societi es.

FLIR Introduces M300 Series Marine Cameras FLIR Systems has launched the FLIR M300 Series, a new generati on of mariti me thermal cameras designed for the most demanding professional mariners and fi rst responders operati ng in the harshest marine environments. The series facilitates safer navigati on through improved image stabilisati on using an integrated atti tude heading reference system (AHRS) sensor, providing captains with a steady view in rough seas. The dual M364C and M364C LR sensors off er mariners greater awareness via FLIR’s patented Colour Thermal VisionTM (CTV) technology. This multi spectral imaging technology blends thermal and high-defi niti on visible colour video for enhanced identi fi cati on of buoys, vessels, and other targets at night.
New Two-Stage Capacity Indicator from Stauff A new two-stage capacity indicator from Stauff with five visual alarm levels and other functions lowers costs for users of hydraulic systems. The revised version of the HI-D024 contamination indicator makes it significantly easier to monitor the remaining capacity of filter elements. Compared to the previous model, the new version can output four, instead of two, alarm messages – from green (everything OK) through yellow and orange to flashing red (filter spent). Additionally, the temperature of the hydraulic fluid is determined. This prevents false alarms which can be caused by high oil viscosity in the cold start phase. Another new feature is that this Thermostop function is output as an extra visual alarm (blue).

shipbuilding-industry.eu The Alfa Laval AQUA freshwater generation technology is now available to a wider range of vessels. AQUA freshwater generation technology uses a revolutionary three-in-one process where evaporation, separation, and condensation occur in a single plate pack. Able to produce up to 60m 3 of high-quality freshwater per day, the AQUA Blue C-type and S-type offer major space and energy savings over previous freshwater generators. For vessels needing fewer cubic metres, however, the capital investment in AQUA technology has sometimes outweighed the efficiency. With its tiny footprint and low OPEX, the new AQUA Blue Mini meets freshwater needs of 1-18m 3 per day.
