I was born on 1987 in Milan, Italy, surrounded by a family of Painters and illustrators. Thanks to my father’s artistics skills, till my tender age i really am passionate with drawing and thinking how to create real objects. After several years working in my father‘s familiar buisness as an illustrator and 3D modeller, I finally decided to follo w my real passion to artistic draw, design and car’s world, starting my IED studies. My greatest passion is to create something in real, to personally follow all the projectation, since the born of the idea till reaching the concrete final product.

EXTERIOR DYNAMIC - CURVES - RIBBON - STRETCH FINISHING LINE - ADRENALINE - MUSCLE VELOCITY - PASSION - ELEGANCE - FIERCE
TAKE A LOOK TO AN OLD CAR AND TRY TO REALLY APPRECIATE HIS CHARATTERISIC LINES THEN LET THIS LINES SEDUCE YOU WITH THEIR ELEGANCE AND DREAM ABOUT ANOTHER TIME
THEN COME BACK AND IMAGINE HOW TO EVOLVE THIS LINES USING THE SAME VOLUMES WITH A NEW APPROACH TO THE SURFACES TREATMENT
EVOLVING TO THE FUTURE I took my inspiration from the hystorical model BMW mille miglia 320ci and his volumes with the long hood. Still maintaining the exclusive elegance of BMW series, i thought about a brand new model for a sportive car, characterized by a charming silhouette. The main objective where to give it the brand’s taste of eflegance , taking it from from the past, and at the same time of grit of our modern times.
TRASPORTATION DESIGN - MARCO PIAZZA
FIRST SKETCHES I decided use an old fashioned volume, with the cockpit totally imbalanced to the posterior and a very long hood, in the way to obtain a strong impression of might and power. Looking at the initial inspiration of athlete and finishing line, i decided to use fluid and long lines which runs allover the vehicle side. In the front and the posteriori this lines finishes hard, like cutted as a ribbon. Meanwhile the surfaces are smooth and elegant according to brand’s identiy. This sport car is two seated, and equiped with a powerfull electric engine, looking in the same direction in which BMW is moving in the next years.

INTERIORS LINES - LIGHT - INNOVATION - FLUIDITY PARALLELISM - DYNAMISM - ENVELOPE
IMAGINE THE SIMPLICITY OF A TAUT SURFACE BETWEEN TWO LINES WRAPPED EACH OTHER THEN LOSE YOURSELF IN THEIR EXTREME FLUIDITY OPEN YOUR MIND AND DREAM
CLOSE YOUR EYES AND NOW LET THEM, VERY SLOWLY AND EXTREMLY NATURALLY, BECOMES A REAL AND ENVELOPING OBJECT
LINES EVOLVING In comparison to the customary volumes, BMW ZX’s interior merges all the elements, creating a continuity in the lines to obtain a dynamic sensation. The surfaces, are enveloping and dynamic designed, and leads to a fresh and young style interior concept. The driver is fully shrouded and protected by the seats and by the dashboard, which runs alla round the interior and finally turns into the armrests. Doing this i tryed not to forgo the BMW’s typical elegance and attenction to the details.

LINES BECOME CONCRETE I were drawing a sport car, so i wanted to put the focus on
the steering wheel. From them and the instrumentation I decided to start any element, making yhe dashboard runs behind the seat to reach the central tunnel. This creates an embrace that from the steering wheel brings to the gear lever, giving the driver a feeling of absolute control of the car.

SPORTIVITY MEANS SPEED, ACCELERATION, POWER, GROUND EFFECT, ROAD HOLDING DIFFERENT THINGS ALL CLOSELY CONNECTED TO ONE: THE AERODYNAMIC
POWER
RIDE A BIKE WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEANS FOR A BIKER? EMOTIONS FISICAL CONTACT, POWER, FISICAL CONTROL, FREEDOM, ROAD, JUST AIR ON THE SKIN
RESEARCH SKETCHES This kind of aerodynamical shape means that air flowing out from the rear will create a strong ground effect, giving a good road holding and encreasing performances to the car while running. That’s why the cockpit is moved to the front, rebalancing all the weights. Thinking about why a biker needs a car, i decided to creat a closed/half closed vehicle, increasing the confort without loosing bike’s sensations. Rear’s mechanicals parts are out and the front, in order to the aerodynamic, is completeli closed. Any part is thought to move on the other allowing car’s inclination that’s means to reach a bike driving style.

FINAL CONCEPT At the beginning i tried to think about a completely closed cockpit, giving the focus on comfort. Then i decided to half open it, to get the air sensation and freedom feeling on driver’s skin. The front’s big air intakes works exactly on the same direction. The windschield moves, opening and closing according to driving style and weather conditions.
HOW DOES IT WORK 1915 The central part of the chassis, with the supporting structure and main glass. Has the function of connecting the front to interiors and mechanical part. It rotates too, following the other parts.

The body wheel cover, it can move independently from the rest of the structure, allowing to change car’s inclination during the drive experience.
Is the main part, formed by interior and mechanicals. Is studied to change his inclination as passenger needs. Is directly connected to the central part.

INTERIORS THE MAIN IDEA IS TO LET A MOTORBIKE AND A CAR TO EXIST IN THE SAME VEHICLE TWO OPPOSITES STRUCTURES, DRIVING POSITION AND SPACES HAS TO LIVE IN ONE
SEPARATE THE SPACES MAKING THE DRIVER FEEL IN PERSONAL CONTACT WITH THE VEHICLE ALL IN ORDER TO CONCILIATE TWO EXTREMELY DIFFERENT DRIVING EXPERIENCES
RESEARCH SKETCHES The focus is on the emotions given by driving a motorbike. That’s why the seats are thought to be located up on the wheel, to transmitt a part of road’s vibrations to passengers. The two main structure changes inclination, allowing driver and passenger to directly influence the driving performance. The driving position can change between car and bike mode with a simple movement. The steering wheel is designed to be modified and moved in order to allow the driving mode. Aim of any supersport car is the performance, so instrumentation is elementary as they are according to brand’s identity.
TRASPORTATION DESIGN - MARCO PIAZZA
EVOLVING THE IDEA Working on volumes i wanted to get the passengers completely embraced by the structure, creating the sensation of safety inside the vehicle, typical of car’s interior, in contrast to the open space. Meanwhile i studied lines which allows to see the street and let to feel one of the sensation i think biker’s has while driving. To increase the confort i located big air vents in front of passengers, coming back to give confort and simulate a closed space. The seat is designed to let the passenger feel confortable during the car mode drive and not so mutch during the bike’s one.

ALFA ROMEO THE NAME OF A LEGEND OF SPEED, OF ELEGANCE, OF WINS PERFECTLY RESUMED IN ONE ANIMAL. THIS HAS TO BE THE BRAND’S INSPIRATION
RESEARCH SKETCHES Working on a “style” project, i focused on convert the strong inspiration i found, the “Cobra Reale”, into a vehicle which expresses all his essence. I draw fluently lines running all around the car without stopping, giving sense of dynamism to the volume. I decided to “cut” the side view with at oblique line trimming all the surfaces; i think it relieves all the silouette giving the sensation of a low rise vehicle. In the front the radiator grill become the point from which all line starts, like a nose in the snakes head. Surface threatment has to be soft and fluid according to the brand’s style, but i finally decided to mix some strong edge looking to the future.
TRASPORTATION DESIGN - MARCO PIAZZA
FIRST STEP CONCEPT Drawing a supersport car i opted for a two seated vehicle, with the windshield and roof strongly inspired to aeronautical world. The folume is moved to the front to get better aerodynamical results, and the high performance engine isplaced in the rear, with air intakes on the roof wich canalize the air flow to make it breathe. Evolving the project, in a first step i arrived at the first concept, satisfied of my work but conscious that i where drawing a contemporari AlfaRomeo. Then, one year later and with more experience gained, i decided to review all the concept. I kept volumes and main lines the same, playing with the style and evolving it in a futuristic way, changing surfaces movement and making the very fluid surfaces end in harder edges.
