PLaIteD tanK tOP A snug fitting top knitted in the round with no seams.

GETTING STARTED if you finish each length of knitting at the underarm front and back neck and shoulder lengths on the 6th or 12th row of pattern a frilly edge will be avoided on the cable plaits. all edge stitches are knitted. Plaited cable: worked over 15 st and 12 rounds or rows Knitted in the round Round 1 to 4: K15 Round 5: slip 5 sts on cable needle and leave at back of work, K5sts, K5 from cable needle, K5. Round 6 to 10: K15 Round 11: K5, slip next 5 sts on to cable needle and leave at front of work, K5, K5 from cable needle. Round 12: K15 When knitting the pattern in rows the even numbered rows (WS) are purled.

WORKING PATTERN BODY using 3.75mm circ needle cast on 208(220, 232) using the thumb method. Set up round 1: join for knitting in the round being careful not the twist. This is the start of the first plait that sits at the side. * Place marker, p2, k15, p2, k6(7,8) p2, k15, p2, k8(10,12) p2, k15, p2, k8(10,12) p2, k15, p2, k6(7,8) repeat from * to end of round. Round 2 to 4: repeat round 1. Round 5: for each cable placement of 15 sts work per

Change to 4mm circ needle and continue knitting in the round for 12 rounds of pattern until the desired length to the underarm finish at either round 6 or round 12 (WS)row. Armhole dividing the work to knit front and back separately and knit in rows. Change to using straight needles and work the pattern in rows.

FRONT remove marker, leaving next 2 sts on circ needle and using straight needle cast off underarm 15 sts, p2, and continue in pattern to next marker. remove marker and p2. Turn work and continue in rows with the straight needles, leaving the sts for the back on the circ needle. Cast off 2 sts at the beginning of the next 6(8, 8) rows and cast off 1 st at the beginning of next 2(0, 2)rows. Continue knitting in rows.

NECK after 12(12, 18)rows of pattern are completed from the start of the armhole shaping begin
