I’m Marco Vittor, a recent graduate in architecture at the IUAV university. From an early age I have always been attracted from construction world. For this interest I chose a technical education. During university years I discovered the humanistic side of architecture and I was been seduced from it. I’m a hard worker, enthusiastic, inquiring. I have an excellent ability to organize my work and to work in groups. Able to work under pressure, to respect the deliveries and to manage time and tasks efficiently. I consider myself a creative person, able to listen and to be able to adapt to new environments. Try me!

Residence, economy, recreation: three distinct functions but indispensable each other to create a real distrect, now abandoned and isolated from large infrastructure projects. The new residential fabric, made up low houses, offers privacy and essential spaces thinked for modern families. The existing towers are retrieved (in some cases converted) and their height is emphasized from natural urban areas that surround them, able to qualify through various topics and functions. These components give life to a model city able to confront the other districts and settlement types already existing in Milan.
6|
The project area is strategically important for Milan, which since recent years has started several projects in the areas around. The weight of the infrastructure has made this district a real urban island, cut off from the rest of the city. The context has therefore suggested to split this elongated fragment, in an archipelago where the built environment is densified and the infrastructure returns to be the common thread.

The new buildings are designed in reinforced concrete in order to recover more material as possible from the demolition of existing buildings, slabs and roads and to prevent pollution and costs that derive from the disposal of the material. The project orients the buildings to introversion. The exterior of the houses is massive and defensive, the windows overlooking the street are reduced, it dims the relationship with the life outside. The houses are arranged on an elongated and shallow plan. All activities are directed to the patio, the true core of the house. The entire complex is covered with fiber cement shingles, with the intent to increase weight and shape of a sculptural volume that turns on itself.

New landmarks to entry in Venice: a belvedere tower, an university campus, sports facilities; cultural spaces for every visitor, citizen or not. The aim of the project project consint into re-appropriate of degraded and unused areas near Santa Lucia’s station. The area overlooks on Canal Grande, so we paid attention to the waterfront and the system of moorings. The main issues of this area were the accessibility and the connection with the water and rails.

The project uses two opposed approach when it compare itself to the edge theme; completely opened to the water and closed to the rails. We inserted a podium to play up this decision and to offer two dais on different scenarios. This way solved difference in height and allows us to create different architectural quality of the spaces.

The facade of the residence’s building is composed from aluminum sheets perforated with a pattern that allows the shapes to be bent up or down. When bent up the surface catches the light and bent down the surface is shaded. In this way intricate graphics can be applied onto the building with punch perforated panels without the use of expensive laser cutting.

From tobacco factory to tobacco exhibition Restoration studio S. Di Resta with M. Azzarello, P. Toniolo Bevadoro (PD), Italy
16 |
The building restored is situated in Bevadoro, near Padova. Almost completely destroied by the time, the project aims to revitalize this old dryer for tobacco that was built in the late of nineteenth century and then used like rural house. After analyzing the context and the building, we decided to maintain the casing and insert a new steel structure to put up an “all in one space useful for future changes of use. The former dryer will be an activator for the area because it is part of a complex of buildings that can be retrained, thanks to the new bicycle path that connects the towns in the area.

The brick building had total attrition of wooden floors and pitched roof. We replaced the floor slabs with a simple removable steel structure with pillars that don’t affect the original structure. On the ground floor the project expects reception and refreshment services while on the first floor there is an exhibition space that shows the various processes of tobacco with photographic evidence of the time.

Do we still need an industrial zone? Design Studio 3 M. Ferrari, L. Fabian, L. Cipriani, A. Libardo with P. Toniolo Vigonza (PD), Italy
20 |
The studio worked on the design of a planning model about Venetian industrial zone, in particular of those situated between Padua and Venice. The project is developed in Vigonza, a town near Padova, crossed by two ecological corridors. In this zone there are a lot of abandoned areas and flooding problems. The proximity to the industrial zone of Padua makes this area an its functional satellite. Therefore it is less affected than others by the recession.
Vigonza
Exist an high intensity city organised around high speed transport network. It’s made by efficients connections and intermodality. On its extremities there are most of the factories.

The industrial zone of Vigonza develops since 1950’s in a closed shape characterized from an high number of streets. The project idea is to make this area usable by everyone. The elimination of some streets has allowed the industrial zone to be more permeable to the nature. This operation led to the divestiture of some factories. It was decided to reduce the production area, concentrating it on one hard forehead. The area has been equipped with some storage sites and it has given a hierarchical spatial order to different sectors of production, connecting them by new buildings that offer new space for showroom, fab-lab, offices and leisure spaces. In this way we can reduce production chain and allow to citizens the full use of the area.

24 |
...so, do we still need an industrial zone? yes, in Vigonza we need it, but different!
