Sweden plans green tax credits for home appliance repairs STOCKHOLM - Sweden's government plans to introduce tax breaks to make it more affordable to repair washers, dryers and other home appliances as a way to reduce waste and protect the environment. The left-leaning government also suggested lowering the value added tax for repairs of bicycles, clothes and shoes in its budget proposal Tuesday. It said "both measures are aimed at preventing waste by prolonging the life span of these products." The government also said it is investing nearly 13 billion kronor ($1.5 billion) in various measures to reduce emissions of climate-warming greenhouse gases, including by promoting public transportation and cycling. The budget proposal by the coalition government of Social Democrats and Greens requires parliamentary approval. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/09/20/sweden-plans-green-tax-credits-for-home-appliance-repai rs.html
