Elite genetics at Gadgarra Murray Grey Stud

AT Gadgarra Murray Grey Stud we have been breeding quality purebred Murray Grey Cattle for more than twenty-four years. We choose Murray Grey cattle because of their temperament, ease of calving, strong maternal traits, fertility, carcass quality and (because) they are naturally polled. Over the years elite genetics have been carefully selected and sourced from Murray Grey Studs from all over Australia from as far away as Western and South Australia, NSW and Tasmania. Our strong focus on structure, maternal traits, fertility, high milk figures and low birth weights as well as true to type of the breed, has truly paid off for us with phenomenal success in the show rings not just at local shows but also at Beef Australia and the EKKA. Recent scan results on our bulls have also confirmed that our breeding program hits the specs on carcass traits with excellent results on Fat, E.M.A. and I.M.F. scores. Local cattlemen have been extremely happy with the hybrid vigour our bulls have put into their calves from breeds such as Droughtmasters, Brahman, Angus, British Whites, Composite and Dairy cows. Almost all of them have become return buyers. Gadgarra Murray Grey Stud is a relatively small stud, but what we lack in numbers we make up for in quality.
