KEL-LEE DROUGHTMASTERS
Structurally sound and functional droughtmasters
Kel-Lee Droughtmasters strives to produce quiet, quality, structurally sound and functional cattle that thrive in the harsh NQ climate.
KEL-LEE is a family owned and run operation situated at Upper Barron on the Atherton Tablelands, approximately 14 kilometres from the township of Atherton. Set on 126 acres on the Barron River, Kel-lee runs 40 head of breeders plus progeny, selected young bulls, replacement heifers, and steers year-round. The Kel-lee herd was started in 1991 based on Stedon, Mungalla, Kirknie and Bernleigh bloodlines. With Glenlands, Wylandra, Wingfield, Vale View, RSVP, and numerous other leading genetics added through the increased use of AI. With the continued addition of new bloodlines, Kel-lee feel they have gained a real depth in our maternal lines with our females, and value the strength and power they add to our breeding program. With over 30 years of in operation, we strive to produce quiet, quality, structurally correct and functional cattle with longevity, softness, and fertility to boot. We aim to produce bulls and females that will go on and produce progeny, straight out of the paddock, either stud or commercial, that will suit the varying markets from the domestic butcher trade to the later Jap ox market. Bulls and females are sold at society sales or privately out of the paddock throughout the year. We enjoy promoting our cattle through showing at local shows and field days including Townsville, Malanda, Atherton and Cairns and the FNQ Field Days and often attend Beef Australia where we have had great success over many years. Jeff, Kellie and Amy Williams look forward to opening their gates and welcoming guests to view their cattle and have a chat on Sunday, August 14 as part of the Tablelands Better Beef Open Day. Kel-lee Droughmasters is located at 58 Hemmings Lane, Upper Barron. For more information phone 0417 950 133.
