Position Announcement: Annual Fund and Special Events Manager
Start Date: July 1, 2025
The Storm King School is an 8th-12th grade, co-educational, college preparatory boarding/day school of 175 students. Our students come from throughout the US and 25 countries. We are located in the spectacular Hudson Highlands, overlooking the Hudson River and surrounded by 6,000 acres of green space made up of Black Rock Forest and Storm King State Park.
The Annual Fund and Special Events Manager will:
● Manage a comprehensive, successful annual giving program geared toward all school constituencies, incorporating direct mail, personal solicitation, prospect screening, database segmentation, and related marketing efforts, using proven, effective methods and techniques and industry best practices.
● Direct development-oriented special events for alumni, parents, and friends, including the annual Reunion Weekend, regional gatherings and receptions, and on-campus events
● With support and oversight of the Director of Development, research, write, and steward proposals to grant-making foundations, corporations, and agencies.
● Participate in the collaborative development of short- and long-term fundraising goals; annual, capital, and endowment fundraising targets; and the annual development office plan
● Oversees the Parents Association and acts as a liaison between the Head of the Parents Association and the school’s administration
● Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development and Head of School
Desired Qualifications:
● Minimum one year’s experience in fundraising and/or events
● Excellent verbal and written communications skills
● Skill in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously and remain cognizant of deadlines and schedules
● Strong personal and professional integrity
● Ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds, training, and experience
● Proficiency with technology; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and/or other fundraising databases
● Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Salary and Benefits: Salary negotiable, likely in the range of $50,000-60,000 depending on experience A full range of benefits are included
