INTRODUCTION In interior design, the Industrial style is the perfect blend of old and new. In recent years, the industrial style in interior design has become increasingly popular and it's easy to see why. The look is all about combining the best aspects of old world charm with modern elegance. In essence, it's a perfect compromise. However, there is one major flaw that prevents this style from becoming a staple in our homes. When we picture these industrial-style interior designs, we usually think of lofts with large open windows and lots of exposed brick. Those who live in less urban settings may think that they don't have the right environment and that their living spaces are too traditional to achieve this style. In this e-book by Margaret Luna Architectural Interiors, there’s a small small guide to a trend that is at the top of interior design styles. In it we will see textures, colors, furniture, tips in bedrooms, kitchens and more.
INDUSTRIAL INTERIOR DESIGN
An interior design trend that is very current and is used in work spaces as well as in residential and commercial establishments is the industrial style. It has become the biggest interior design trend in the world right now, with no signs of slowing down. Who would have thought that the style of warehouses, factories and downtown loft apartments is now one of the most sought after decorating trends for 5-star restaurants, CBD cafes and multi-million dollar mansions? The industrial style in interior design shows a very urban and carefree image. In many occasions it is low cost and allows to expand to the maximum the dimensions of the spaces that
follow this design trend, below we list other characteristics of this decorative design modality. It celebrates defined lines, stripped architecture, exposed surfaces and salvaged vintage objects. It is minimalist and functional in nature, with a focus on showcasing humble and functional materials. Although industrial design is predominantly masculine, it can be channeled into a modern city chic style with the right combination of softer materials and luxurious textures to subtlety and give it a more feminine feel.

One of the first things you'll notice in industrial spaces is that there aren't many touches of color in bold hues. Instead, this style relies on using a combination of neutral tones to create a clean look. Keep this in mind when choosing your color palette.
COLOS & TEXTURES
We can start with a palette in neutral tones. That said, not all neutrals are the same. In contrast to the starkness offered by more minimalist spaces, industrial-style interiors tend to have a warmer, cozier feel. This is because, rather than going for black and white tones to create a stark contrast, they incorporate a variety of browns and materials such as concrete. Use these tones as

your dominant colors with other neutrals for details. Don't forget that natural materials also count as neutrals. If you are lucky enough to live in a home with brick walls, these should take center stage. If not, you can also consider incorporating wood, stone and metal pieces into your design.

Within the development of products in Industrial Design, a large number of materials are known to carry out products, so that those that best provide the necessary characteristics are chosen for manufacturing. Some of the most common uses of different materials in industrial design are: Wood, brick, metal, concrete, glass, etc. Hardness: for products that withstand constant stress. Surface finish: possibility of having different finishes (smooth, rough, easily washable, withstand corrosive liquids, withstand inclement weather). Their main characteristics are: Malleability: materials that can be easily adapted to a mold and that the automated manu-
facturing by injection is agile and feasible. Flexibility: materials that withstand working stresses and have adequate flexibility without deforming or cracking under the expected stresses. Temperature tolerance: materials resistant to hot environments, such as outdoors exposed to solar radiation, or in works where there is severe heat radiation nearby (ovens and processes with temperature).
Bedroom

Industrial bedrooms radiate calm and cool. Exposed brick walls, iron finishes and raw floors convey your creativity and personality. So much of industrial decor is about contrast; old next to new, recycled next to DIY and even light next to dark. The main characteristics to have a bedroom with industrial design are: Use pure materials, wood, brick and metal. Timeless furniture can give a unique touch to your bedroom but don't forget to contrast it with more modern ones. Industrial bedrooms can carry color, usually colors that make a lot of contrast.
Make your industrial bedroom not match, by the way, an example of them is the combination of wood and metal. Show industrial chic in different tones, use contrasting shades in both paint and in your accessories, bedding, cushions, furniture and lighting fixtures. Speaking of lighting: use pendant lamps, with warm light bulbs. Glass or metal finishes give a better touch. Take advantage of the architecture of your space, exposed columns or half-finished walls are a good option to achieve this style.

LIVING room
Since this style is based on the old factories of the 50's, the essence of the decoration must be represented by the finishes of the space, that is, through the materials. The walls as well as the ceilings, become the perfect canvas to decorate the rooms of our house and it is in them where we can find another way to bring this style to our decoration: the exposed bricks. Among the elements that we can consider key to the decoration of an industrial style living room, is the presence of wide sofas, they can be made of leather or other natural fibers, their appearance can look worn to enhance the effect of the style. In this space, we see that all the rules for a successful industrial living room are met: the size of the sofas and replicas of design pieces that give the vintage flavor to the decor. The presence of metals is a major factor in the ambiance of the space.
The color palette of the industrial style is based on white, black, gray, earth tones and some blues, these colors are based on the materials used in this decorative style. If you want to achieve a more feminine look, it is best to opt for a range of light tones; if, on the contrary, you are looking for a masculine touch, you will have to resort to dark and gray tones. Lighting is one of the most important factors in the industrial style, the lights follow a rustic trend and without great ornaments, they manage to combine the industrial style in an avant-garde way, making it look elegant and distinguished. The industrial decoration incorporates pieces that have an antique or second-hand look. Photos of cities or vintage posters are usually hung on the walls. Auxiliary furniture, such as tables, are often notoriously vintage, but in a more rustic sense, making use of metals (which can be rusted) to old suitcases.

The dining room table is an important part of a home. Not only is it the place where household meals are shared, but it can also serve as a convenient place to work or do activities, whether it's an extra office space, a place to finish homework or a place to be creative. On top of all this, a dining table can play a key role in the overall appearance of your home and, if designed well, can go a long way in enhancing your interior design. In a previous blog, we looked at the best ways to create the ultimate industrial look for your home , and here we focus on the industrial dining table and the best way to style it, bringing out its potential. When choosing an industrial dining table from Steel Vintage, you know that you are choosing a piece of furniture that incorporates quality materials and industrial craftsmanship that will last a lifetime, meaning it has to be of the highest quality. It is for this reason that a combination of textures works well in industrial spaces, adding to the charm and appeal of the style. Choosing dining chairs with this in mind will add authenticity to the industrial period and personality to your setting, with contrasting colors and different fabrics. When it comes to your tabletop, simplicity is key. The focus should not stray away from the brightness of the table, but what you place on the table should complement it, adding charm. Think clean centerpieces or vases filled with simple greenery or fresh flowers to go with your color scheme. A contrast of textures will also work well here: sometimes a concrete planter, glass or copper vase on top of the wooden table is all you need to complete the look.
The table itself is not all you need to think about. An eye-catching lighting feature above your industrial dining table will attract attention and create an uncluttered area to gather as a family, not to mention an additional opportunity to add style to your home. Pendant lights, such as bowl pendants or exposed bulb pendants, are particularly suited to industrial style and whether you have just one or several, the atmosphere they can add to the style of your dining table is well worth the effort.
