Born in NZ. Maiden name Barber.Went to primary school in suburb of Karori, then secondary school at Wellington Girls' College. Victoria University of Wellington . 1957-59. Married John Fowler 1960. Worked at School Library Service, Alexander Turnbull Library, Hamilton Public Library, Hamilton Teachers College Library. Moved with family of 4 children to London 1978. Worked as ILEA School Librarian and then at City of Westminster College. Volunteer with VSO in Africa and S.E. Asia 1995-2007. Voluntary worker in communities in Haringey at present.
