Una Vera-One True
Color and Textile Forecasting Booklet For the Season of Spring 2012 By Maria Broerman
What is “Una Vera-One True”? • Una Vera-One True is an apparel line of women’s elegant evening wear. The name highlights the Italian inspirations that are a part of the line, as it is the Italian translation of the words “One True”. These words are significant to the line as it is based on the romantic mind-set of the thoughts “One True Love” and “One True Happiness”. • Our company is made up of a partnership of designer and business manager. This coalition of efforts combines the creative ideals and the down-to-earth business practice of the two partners. As opposed to in a large corporation, the unique feel of such a small-staffed company gives the customer a more personalized feel to the brand and the clothing. • The clothing is desgined as romantic, Italian inspired evening wear for the sophisticated woman today. From dresses, to seperates, to outerwear, every occasion is covered.
Who is “Una Vera-One True”? • The name or our clientelle is Isabella. She is chic and fashion consious. She loves flowy silhouettes that flatter the body. She is a working woman in her late twenties and thirties who wants to dress up for her active evening social life. Sometimes she is going to see a show, other times she wears our clothes to the opening of a new restaurant, even to work events and parties. Isabella is confident and feminine, she knows what she wants and is driven, but has a whimsical and romantic sense of style.
Brisk Atmosphere
These colors are for the darker side of Spring 2012’s line. Even in the spring, evening wear requires some aspects of a darker pallette. The colors featured here are inspired by moments of the setting sun, as this is when they will be worn. Colors like these are perfect for a cocktail dress or even the basic seperates of a skirt and flowy top. There is a clear trend toward color schemes inspired by the natural colors of evening and nighttime. While being on the darker side of the spectrum, these colors are still highly saturated and make bold statements. Perfect for the gorgeous woman looking to stand out at an event!

Electric Citrus
If there was ever a season for bright, lively colors, it is the spring! This pallette, although made up of a variety of fresh colors, still carries a cooler tone than the brights that emerge in other seasons. These colors are taken from the bright lights of city nightlife, a fitting setting for our client Isabella. The vivid and illuminated aspects behind these colors fall in line with the rhythmic, bright trends coming up. You can really make a statement on an evening out when adorned with these glowing colors. Use them individually or as a pop of color when paired with more muted neutrals. Spring has never looked so alive!
Soft Kiwi
Soft Peach
Soft Honeydew
Soft Lemon
Soft Bue Raspberry
Dusty Delicacy
These more dusty shades or neutrals bring some airy light into the spectrum. Contrasting the harsher neutrals of the colder seasons, Spring 2012 allows the darkness to melt away. Soft and dusty grays, tans, and browns subtly compliment the brighter accent colors of the other Spring spectums. These colors seem faded and nostalgic, as is the trend set for the season. Isabella’s sparkling personality can shine bright when she wears this comforting but stylish neutral pallette. These colors can even be incorporated into a brighter or darker outfit through accessorizing with a belt, shoes, or handbag.
Sheer Elegance
Sheer Fabric With Volume
Shine and Iridencence
Delicate simplicity is done best with sheer and flowing fabrics. Sheer fabrics remove bulk and bring life back into fashion for the Spring season. Highlighting these flowing textiles with floral laces and textured embroidery gives dimension and volume to the clothing. The unique way lightweight sheer fabrics move through space gives clothing a whole new shape and is very on trend for the season. Isabella has never felt more feminine and free than when draped in the soft sheer silks and organza fabrics of the Spring 2012 line.

Comfort is essential for a woman going out after a day at the office. Natural fabrics ranging from cotton to wool, even leather, are going to be a trend focus for the Spring 2012 season. Not only is organic an ever-rising trend, but the comfort of these natural textiles gives Isabella the freedom to leave the office and head into her social life with ease. These fabrics are ideal for skirts and trousers and are easily dressed up with a show stopping blouse or jacket. Even use them to accent a sheer, billowing dress by accessorizing with handbags or hats.

Texture is in! These fabrics are perfect for outer wear on those Springtime evenings when there is still a chill in the air.
