TRANSFORMATION Fall/winter 2020-2021
INTRODUCTION Due to the oversaturation in the industry, consumers are constantly looking for a differential factor amongst brands. As customers ask more from these brands, companies are going to give into these requests and start offering something other than just a simple range of products. That is why this is a season of transformation, of dramatic change, where we are going to see how companies are going to look at different ways to add value to their brand with values and ideas that their customers can identify with. In Purposeful we are going to see a shift towards a more sustainable way of living and producing. Companies are going to be looking at different ways in which they can give back to the environment and reduce the harm the industry has been causing up until this point. At the same time, they are going to approach the transparency factor as well by providing honest information about where the products are coming from and how they are being made. With New Age we are going to see the different technological advances some brands have made and how they are implementing across different channels. These advances range from ways to be more efficient as a company to ways in which they can enhance an individual’s quality of life. From simple things like the fabrics they use to big changes like Augmented Reality in a store, companies are going to rely on technology to provide their customers an added value. Finally, with Awake we will be included in the political and social conversations that surround us on a daily basis. Companies will finally stand for something other than making money; they will fight for a cause that is of meaning to them and their customers and carry that belief throughout every action the brand does. Whether they use their actual products, or they communicate the message through a marketing campaign, they will make a clear statement of what they believe in. With these three different approaches, not only will we see more customers being attracted to the stores, but also brand loyalty will increase. These trends may start to be implemented this season, but they will for sure continue to grow as the relationship becomes stronger with their clients.
PURPOSEFUL As our planet continues to deteriorate, we are becoming more concerned with the future and therefore we are looking into new ways of contributing to this world to hopefully save our planet. We will be able to see some changes in the raw materials being used and how some companies are choosing unconventional elements to create different products. From fish leather to recycled plastic fibers, this trend will showcase the creativity of some planet-loving individuals and their efforts for making this a clean environment. This trend will also introduce you to some of the coolest sustainable products that will inspire you to change your lifestyle into a greener one. With organic shapes, soft textures and earthy tones, this trend will definitely make you feel closer to nature.

NEW AGE The future we once daydreamed about is here, and with it all the advances we didn’t even think possible. AWAKE With how easy it is to access the news nowadays, ignoring what is going on in the world is almost impossible. Not only are people more and more aware of what is happening, but they are also incorporating themselves in these conversations. With this in mind, companies have started behaving more like human beings rather than just businesses and are adding social causes and political values to the mission statement. More abstract than the others, this trend will showcase how these conversations are being taken past just the idea and interpreted into actual products or marketing campaigns.
