History of Japanese Lolita Visual kei is a music genre that born in Japan and mixes cosplay, metal, gothic and glam. The main characteristic of this tribe is the visual. The visual kei bands are very extravagant. Mana is a Japanese musician and fashion designer, famed for his role as a leader and guitarist of the influential visual kei band Malice Mizer. It is said that he is widely considered the figurehead of Japan's Gothic Lolita fashion movement, as he helped popularize it.
Philosophy • Japanese Lolita lives for innocence, decadence, and a life of elegance. • Different for west Lolita: "cute" rather than "sexy". • The irony of the name, Lolita, is that the actual fashion was created to fight the growing exposure of the body and skin in today's clothing, specifically in regards young women. • The feeling of modesty allows a girl to feel young, cute, beautiful or off- limits, depending on which type of Lolita a girl chooses to be.
Lifestyle • Hand made dresses • Girls are perfect in almost every respect and follow a Lolita 'lifestyle' of baking and knitting. • For the majority of Lolita, dressing in the fashion doesn't mean changing personalities and habits, it may simply be a preference of style or a statement for modesty.
