Hidden Typography Mariah Bly January 29th, 2014
When sketching out my letters i decided to try a more straight feel to see how it would look. After getting the class opinion I agreed that the wavier font showed more character and more of a body structure. As you see here, this is the before and after of filling it in with sharpie. I noticed when you fill it in with the black sharpie your letters pop out way more, and its also much better to see all your curves and lines.
This is the before and after of my wavy font. Again, with adding the black sharpie it pops out way better and shows way more of the waviness. I really liked my wavy font because it was closer to what the human body was, rather than just having straight up and down lines. This is a picture of what my actual letters looked like. At first it was hard to decide how I would create a letter with my body. I finally figured out the way to use my arms and legs to help create the letter shape. This was really a fun project to create a font with using the human body.
This is my finally piece of the hidden typography. I’m glad that I ended up going with my more wavier font instead of the more straight one. Overall, I really enjoyed doing this project and being able to use my own body to create my name.
