Anime perduta pilgrim

Centre
Our concept is to create a pilgrim Centre on the shore of the Bolsena lake away from the city , to be a destination for a temporary accommodations for a relaxing and meditating experience . The “ Anime Perduta” complex consists of three main elements: the plaza , the form surrounding it and the church in the middle. The main form in also divided into three zones : the cultural Centre , the craft Centre and the accommodation part, we created a circulation so that the tourist / pilgrim can be prepared to dive into his inner soul . It is almost an exploration of the spirit .The user is prepared to go to the next stage : the plaza , where they can explore the church exterior shell and interact with it ,and it prepare them to peacefully enter the church to pray and meditate.

SECTION & ANALYSIS
main plan
The church is in a good shape but the original wooden roof was demolished , so we replaced it with two layers : the inner layer a dome to provide a sense of place and to manage the amount of sunlight and its direction. The exterior layer is a tented roof built with pipes to be lightweighted but can be seen from dstance to provide guidance to pilgrims.
