Hello i'm Pluto the dwarf planet come explore with me.
T ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
f When was Pluto discovered? How did Pluto get its name? Who decided Pluto is a dwarf planet? Why is Pluto a dwarf planet? Pluto's moons
I Pluto is an amazing, interesting, cool, dwarf planet that is fun to learn about! Not many people have visited Pluto because it's a far dwarf planet but is kind of close to Neptune. If you would like to learn things like how Pluto got its name, how many moons Pluto has, and even why Pluto is a dwarf planet then all you have to do is keep your mind thinking those questions and keep on reading.

Pluto was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh. Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930. Pluto in the Kuiper belt category and is the largest in its category! The Kuiper belt category is an area filled with icy body planets and some other dwarf planets, and it’s out near Neptune! There are other categories with dwarf planets in them too!
Clyde was born on Feb.4,1906 and died on Jan.17,1997
I look GREAT in this picture!

Pluto was named after the greek god Hades. Hades is the god of the dead or underworld. The person who suggested this name was Venetia Burney , an 11 year old girl who lived in England! She suggested the name because it would match all of the other 8 planets with roman god names! This is Venetia Burney

Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet! The people/company that reclassified pluto was the IAU (International Astronomical Union). Pluto has been a dwarf planet since August, 2006! Pluto was a ¨real¨ planet for 76 years! When Pluto was a planet it was one of the 4 outer planets. Pluto is the only dwarf planet that used to be a planet!
Why is pluto a dwarf planet? Pluto met 2 out of the 3 requirements to be a planet. The requirements to be a planet are 1) It is a planet that has to orbit around the sun, 2) It is a planet that has a nearly round surface, and 3) it is a planet that has ¨ cleared its neighborhood ¨ around its orbit (which means the planet has a dominant gravitational body in the orbit) . The requirement that Pluto did not meet was 3) a planet that has ¨ cleared its neighborhood ¨ and in order to be a planet you have to have met this requirement! This is the main reason why Pluto is a dwarf planet!

Pluto has 5 different moons! It’s pretty shocking because it’s such a small dwarf planet! The first moons name is Charon. Charon is the biggest moon out of all 5 and is double the size of Pluto. The next moon is Styx which is the smallest out of the 5 moons. The 3rd moon is Nix. Nix is the about the same size as the 5th moon, so they tie up for the 2nd largest moon! The 4th moon is Kerberos, this moon is the 3rd largest out of the moons. Last but not least we have the 5th moon which is known as Hydra. Hydra and Nix are about the same size so they tie up for 2nd biggest moons! I wonder if any other dwarf planets have moons?

Pluto has a lot of more things you can learn about and it will take time and grit to learn because it’s not easy to research about it and find it right away but just stick with it to learn about The Best Dwarf Planet EVER!!!!!! I encourage you to keep researching and maybe one day you can go explore Pluto :)
Well i hope you enjoyed exploring with me :)
