www.mariececilethijs.com Dutch photographer Marie Cecile Thijs specializes in portraiture and staged photography. In her photographs she strives for intensity and stillness. She mingles contemporary style with classical aesthetics. Marie Cecile Thijs initially had a career as a lawyer, but more than fifteen years ago she rediscovered her earlier love for the camera, and decided to become a photographer. Since then, she has achieved recognition for her photoseries 'Human Angels' and 'Legal Practitioners'. She is also known for her portraits of many politicians, artists and writers. Her photography is regularly published and acquired by art collectors and corporations, and she exhibits frequently. 'White Collar' is a recent autonomous photo project. Photos ‘Girl with White Collar at table’ and ‘Cat with White Collar’ are part of the photo collection of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
