Curiosity’s Landing Curiosity landed on a crater in Mars called Gale Crater. It took of on November 26 2012, and landed on August 5 2012. The scientists who made Curiosity spent 5 years in the lab designing Curiosity and engineering it to meet the specifications.

HOW WAS CURIOSITY NAMED? Curiosity was named by a girl named Clara Ma, she won the essay competition which was held to see what Curiosity’s name should be. Her essay was the winning essay, and she got to name Curiosity and get a tour of the NASA center in Florida. She also received many other prizes from NASA.
