The IB continuum of international education for 3 to 19 year olds is unique because of its academic and personal rigor. The IB challenges students to excel in their studies and in their personal growth. It aims to inspire a quest for learning throughout life that is marked by enthusiasm and empathy. The IB aspires to help schools develop wellrounded students with character who respond to challenges with optimism and an open mind, are confident in their own identities, make ethical decisions, join with others in celebrating our common humanity and are prepared to apply what they learn in real-world, complex and unpredictable situations.

What is the IB? For 45 years IB has delivered programs designed to engage students from 3 to 19 years of age in educational learning that equips them for life in the 21st century. IB students embrace their own cultures and are
open and responsive to other cultures and views. They are fully engaged, ever-curious learners for life. At the heart of all programs is the IB Learner Profile, a long-term, holistic vision of education that underpins the IB continu-
um of education and puts the student at the center of everything. The Learner Profile is the IB mission statement in action and provides a set of learning behaviors which aims to inspire, motivate and focus students, teachers and the entire IB School community, uniting them in a common purpose.
What is the IB Learner Profile? The IB learner profile is the IB mission statement translated into a set of learning outcomes for the 21st century IB learners strive to become inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risktakers, balanced, and reflective.
MCS IB Continuum (K-12)
Marietta City Schools is one of the few districts in the world to offer the full IB Continuum of program offering K12, including the newest program the IB Career-Related Certificate (IBCC).
