The Legend series of regulators are the culmination of Aqua Lung’s regulator design and manufacturing expertise. When Aqua Lung started the development plans for what would eventually become the Legend regulator series,we set out to make the best breathing regulator we had ever produced.We committed all of the company’s resources and expertise to meet this goal and succeeded. Auto Closure Device (ACD) This system automatically protects your first stage from the environment as soon as it has been disconnected from the cylinder valve. If it is stored without its dust cap the inside of the first stage is protected against corrosion and foreign bodies. However, use of the dust cap is recommended to prevent damage due to impacts.

Balanced Second Stage (Fig.1) In an unbalanced second stage the valve which controls the flow of air works against a spring. In order to open the valve, the diver’s inhalation force needs to counteract the spring force. In a balanced second stage the intermediate pressure coming from the first stage is used to counterbalance the spring force, substantially reducing the amount of effort required to open the valve.This results in a second stage that is much more responsive to inhalation effort and breathes very smoothly, especially at depth.

- ACD affords the greatest protection against water entry - ACD affords the greatest protection against contamination ACD is an improved safety measure. It is available in DIN 300B and Yoke 232B versions throughout the LEGEND range.

Diaphragm First Stage Diaphragm mechanisms are time-proven, highperformance designs. By the nature of their design, all moving parts are protected from the environment.The small components reduce internal friction to allow optimal performance. These first stages perform consistently throughout the dive regardless of depth or cylinder pressure.

Over-Balanced Diaphragm First Stage As you descend with an over-balanced first stage, the medium pressure in the hose actually increases at a faster rate than the traditional balanced models. This increased medium pressure compensates for the increased density of your breathing gas at deeper depths.The result is superior breathing regardless of depth.

User Adjustment Knob (Fig. 2) This knob allows you to tune the regulator for your personal needs. For example, when the regulator is out of the mouth such as on a surface swim, the knob can be turned in to decrease sensitivity.When diving to greater depths, the knob can be turned out all the way to compensate for the fact that the air is more dense. Venturi Adjustment Switch (V.A.S.) (Fig. 3) Air circulating in the second stage creates a strong venturi effect that assists you during the inhalation process.The addition of an external venturi adjustment switch allows our engineers to maximize the strength of the venturi for ease of breathing, while allowing you to control it to prevent air from escaping when the unit is out of your mouth, such as on a surface swim. Comfo-Bite® Mouthpiece (Fig. 4) The patented bridge on this mouthpiece fits lightly across the roof of the mouth eliminating the need to clench your teeth.This results in less jaw fatigue and makes diving much more comfortable.

DIN Fitting This fitting is available for all our models.The regulator can be used with 200 bar or 300 bar valves.The 300 bar connections are available on Legend.

Air Turbo System The Air Turbo System is a passageway between the port area and the diaphragm chamber. It allows the main diaphragm in the first stage to immediately sense a pressure drop due to inhalation and react faster causing the first stage valve to open sooner.The result is a very responsive regulator that can keep up with the most rigorous demands.

T HE A QUA L UNG R ANGE The Aqua Lung regulator line is divided into several different models based upon the design of first stage. • The Legend series – The Legend series is our high end range which boosts the most features and benefits.The Legend 1st stage is a Diaphragm design which utilizes a proprietary overbalanced first stage to achieve unprecedented performance for the most demanding divers. The Legend 1st stage is available with either the adjustable or nonadjustable second stage. The Legend series has ACD system (Auto Closure Device). • The Titan series – The Titan 1st stage is the most popular and is the workhorse of the fleet. Coupled with the LX second stage the Titan LX performance rivals our highest end regulators while maintaining a very attractive price.The Titan is an inline balanced diaphragm mechanism that is very compact and easy to use. • Calypso series – The Calypso first stage is our new simple piston regulator, it is built up from the famous Calypso series.The new components are compatible with the previous Calypso series.The new internal shapes allowed us some very high breathing performances. It is possible to use it in cold water diving (CE approval). • Second Stages – Aqua Lung offers several models of second stages. Nitrox compatibility (Enriched Air Nitrox EAN)

Cold Water Features Found on “Supreme” Models (Fig. 1) Cold water diving requires special training and also requires specialized equipment designed to resist “Freeze-Up”. Most Aqua Lung regulators are available in a “Supreme” version that is adjusted and designed to perform specifically under cold water conditions. These adaptations include : Environmental Dry Seal (Fig. 2) that keeps water away from the exposed main spring on the first stage thereby reducing the likelihood of freezing on cold water dives.This feature, which comes standard on cold water models, may be added to other models for divers in harsh environments that have the need to keep silt or pollution out of the main spring chamber. Heat Exchangers (Fig. 3) on the second stage help the regulator to resist freezing while diving in colder waters.The heat exchanger conducts the temperature of the surrounding water to the valve inside the regulator, virtually eliminating second stage freezing.

In EEC countries, the Nitrox/O2 diving is ruled by the EN 144-3 standard – Respiratory protective devices – Gas cylinder valve - Part 3 : Outlet Nitrox connections and EN 13949 standard – Respiratory equipment – Open-circuit self contained diving apparatus for use with compressed nitrox and oxygen – Requirements, testing, marking.The maximum depth depends on the percentage of oxygen used in the mixture. •

• Comfo-Bite® Mouthpiece with Lip Shield (Fig. 4) The patented Comfo-Bite mouthpiece with the addition of a lip shield helps protect the diver’s lips from extreme cold.

Aqua Lung offers a separate line of regulators which are designed and manufactured specifically for dedicated use with enriched air above 40% and up to 100% of oxygen.This range meets the requirements of the EN 144-3 and the EN 13949 and has successfully passed the adiabatic compression tests. It has consequently been awarded the CE type certificate. These regulators with specific connections should be used only with suitable complementary equipment (cylinder valves, cylinders, pressure gauges, etc) designed and prepared for use with oxygen enriched gas or oxygen. Nitrox/O2 regulator is built to a high standard of cleanliness using EAN/oxygen compatible components and lubricants. The breathing air used for the mixture should be oxygen-compatible or “hyperfiltered” whereas the condensed hydrocarbons do not exceed 0.1 mg/m3.

A regulator specifically designed for cold-water diving. The first stage, the hose and the second stage are fitted with heat exchangers (patented system) to aid cold extraction.

This regulator, while at first offering a nostalgic appeal, incorporates all the developments and refinements of a modern regulator and allows today’s diving in complete safety.With its multiple MP and HP ports the diver can connect the full range of peripheral elements: octopus, submersible pressure gauge, BC and dry suit inflators.

The Mistral first stage can be supplied with either a 232 bar yoke fitting, a DIN 300 bar fitting or with Nitrox/O2 M26x2 to allow the full range of configuration. We offer a wide range of BC styles to choose from to suit your specific needs and your budget. Before you go shopping however, it is important to understand the basic construction and design features that should be found in any quality BC, regardless of its price tag.

Selecting a Buoyancy Compensator. There are many factors to consider when selecting a BC, including your body shape and the type of exposure suit you will be wearing. Most importantly, you should consider the type of diving you will be doing and the activities you may wish to pursue. If you will primarily be traveling to warm water destinations for casual recreational diving, you may be happiest with a more basic and streamlined model that is lightweight and easy to pack for the trip. If you are an avid wreck diver you may prefer a BC that will better support the load of twin tanks with several options for attaching lights, reels, or even pony bottles.

Backpack / Harness System

Air Cell Design

If your diving requires more effort than a backward roll off a boat, you may want to consider some of the following backpack and harness features that will provide the support you need.

Some BC’s feature larger bladders that provide more lift, while others are smaller and more streamlined for more casual and tropical use. Basic air cell design involves more substantial differences such as:

TDS – Tri Load Distribution System (Fig 1-2) For beach diving or any other type of diving that requires you to “pack in” your gear on dry land, you will appreciate the patented Tri-Load Distribution System (Fig. 1) which distributes the load of your tank and weights to 3 different points via a Tri-Load distributor and swivel buckles (Fig. 2) to ensure the load is distributed evenly. SLS – Self-Adjusting Lumbar Support (Fig. 3) If the load of your tanks weighs you down you will appreciate the added support of the SLS system.The SLS system is a Lumbar Support that automatically adjusts it’s position to find the small of your back and transfer the load to your hips. TAS – Torso Adjusting System (Fig. 4) The TAS System allows vertical adjustment of the BC’s torso length to compensate for individual’s varying torso lengths. ISS – Internal Support Structure BC’s with the ISS system have an internal polymer sheet support structure in the harness of the BC which provides additional support and rigidity to help distribute the load – especially useful when carrying the added weight of twin tanks.

Traditional Advanced Design Vest (ADV) style (Fig. 5) designed to distribute buoyancy around the diver’s waist, as well as over the back and up the shoulders.The primary advantage of this design is the way in which it can hold the diver upright while resting on the surface, with the neck and chest held comfortably above the water. Back Mounted style (Fig. 6) Some divers prefer back mounted design with an air cell that is located entirely on the rear of the jacket, on both sides of the cylinder.This provides a more streamlined effect along the front of the torso, and allows more options for the attachment points of accessories. Women’s Only design (Fig. 7) Ladies, if you have found it impossible to feel comfortable wearing a “unisex” BC, your choice is an easy one.The Diva XLT, Diva LX and Libra BC’s are designed specifically for women - not just in styling and color, but also in comfort, fit, and actual function.The air cell and harness of the Sea Quest women’s BC’s are specially shaped to fit the contours of a woman’s bust,waist, and torso, even when it is fully inflated. Because these BC’s are fully weight integrated, you will no longer need to suffer the discomfort of wearing a weight belt around your hips.

Accessory Attachments

Inflation systems

D-Rings (Fig. 1) Some types of diving may require accessory equipment such as lights, reels, stage bottles, etc. Some BC’s are designed specifically with this type of diving in mind and have a variety of D-Rings in various locations to provide the diver with the greatest number of mounting options. If you have heavy accessories you may want to consider a BC with the ISS (Internal Support Structure) system as this will help distribute the load of those accessories.

Air Source (Fig. 5) The Air Source is a combination second stage and BC inflator all in one.The Air Source replaces the traditional octopus second stage thereby eliminating an extra hose. Under normal circumstances use the Air Source as you would any other BC inflator. In buddy breathing conditions the Air Source can be used by the primary diver like a normal second stage.The Air Source can be added to any Sea Quest BC that uses a conventional inflator.

Knife Mounting Options (Fig. 2) Some divers prefer to mount their dive knife directly to their BC keeping it handy at all times. Selected BC models also include an option to mount the Deep See Squeeze Lock knive utilizing specially located grommet attachment points.

Powerline Inflator (Fig. 6) Standard on most Sea Quest BC’s, the Powerline Inflator allows you to fine tune your buoyancy with it’s feather touch variable flow control. Designed for reliability and comfort in the hands, the Powerline is an easy choice for any type of diving.

Retractors (Fig. 3) A retractor provides a useful mounting location and at the same time allows the diver to utilize that accessory without the need to disconnect it or worry about loosing it.The Pro Unlimited includes a retractor while other select BC’s have mounting locations specifically designed for an optional retractor. REFLECTIVE KIT (Fig. 4) The reflective kit is fitted to the SeaQuest jackets at the level of the inflator and the upper dump. • It aids long-distance visibility due to the mirror effect. • The technology used in their manufacture comes from the military and aids location, even at night. • It is a vital safety element.

Integrated Weights (Fig. 7) Perhaps the most exciting innovation for the BC in recent years, the integrated weight system can dramatically simplify the way you dive - but it took Sea Quest to perfect it.This feature allows you to quickly remove and jettison the weight modules in the event of an emergency.We offer both the original Quickdraw™ system and also our Sure Lock™ integrated weight release system (patent pending).

• Rechargeable dive light in aluminium housing with NiMH battery pack • Two power selection possibility • Standard 50 watt bulb gives 50 minutes burn time. • Switch with "Warning" position • Electronic circuit, checks and monitors the functioning of each element • Retractable 2-position handle with Elastomer grip • Length 220 mm, diameter 80 mm. • Double O-ring for improved watertightness.

Other features: • Pre-formed NiMh high power battery pack of compact dimensions. Allows rapid complete or partial charging without damage to the battery • 2 power settings. • Electronic circuit controls the light, power setting, flash mode and the state of each element. • Heat exchanger to keep head cool. • Rapid charger • Delivered with an additional 20w bulb. When the lamp is not in use, or is being transported, the handle can be collapsed into the lamp body. This position avoids the possibility of any accidental switching. To stow the handle it needs only to be pivoted into the body. • Charger: The lamp can be opened in seconds without the use of any tools. The charger is then connected to the battery pack and it detects the charge level. Charging time is 5 hours.
