This is evidenced in my visual journal , my blog and roughs , where I understand the problem I was provided , and the awareness of the different possibilities to solve the problem through experimentation. The development of my ideas is based on considering the media, format , colour and context behind the problem, according to the most suitable approach for the specific idea .

This is evidenced in my visual journal , blog and development sheets or test prints. I understand and recognize my weakness and strengths within the module. For instance, I understand that mono print and lino weren’t my main strength ,therefore, and based on my practical skills, I analyzed the problem and execute the best approach (screenprint) to obtain better results.

This is evidenced mainly in my blog, although there is also some information and research found in my visual journal. I highly consider the secondary research the most important and key moment of my project. Interviews, documentaries and biographies really expand all the content I needed to solve the visual problems. Engage with the information to develop potential ideas considering all the context behind is showed through my roughs, thumbnails and ideas.

This is evidenced in my blog, and final outcomes for Good the three briefs and study task 1. These outcomes are the combination of three editorial illustrations ,have considered the media format and restrictions.

Then the final screen prints , which were first produce on paper, developed in computer and executed as prints. And the 30 seconds sting , officially uploaded to Vimeo .

It is also shown through the module with the constant mega crits we were provided, peer reviews and tutors/teachers feedbacks.

This module has being quite a challenge as we had never have before a practical module this long . The similarity of this module with the last year brief “Person of note� really get my attention and I was very excited about it.I do think that the person I choose ( Carl Sagan ) was a success , considering my personal preferences and interest, I think that I couldn’t have chosen a better person to work on .

I discover some strengths and weaknesses about myself through this module, which I think that is one of the most important lessons to experience from a college of art.

I proved myself that research has the potential of sending me on the right track . Spending a great amount of time on the research process can make the difference between a good looking work or a really good work. Considering all the context, facts and personal information of the person during the ideas development ,helped me to choose the most interesting and not so obvious concepts. Understanding the valuable information, I took these ideas and transform them into a work with content , instead of simply focus on the aesthetic, which I spent most of my life trying to do. Another strength that I pick from my progression through this module would be the art of sketching, and ideas development from scratches. I think that this factor is one of my best skills that I can offer to the world. I consider that a good outcomes always comes from the best idea, between all possible ideas one produces.

I think that is very important to spent some time in this stage as the outcomes will come from whatever you produce during this part of the development. Having the ability to create and produce multiples visual ideas through sketches, thumbnails and roughs , helped me to be content and most important, confident about the work I’m about to make .On the other hand, not all is going to be strengths , I also found some weaknesses about myself that I’m not happy about and I would certainly trying to improve . To start with , I found that in this module , I wasn’t be able to get back my old blogging routine that I had last year. It really worried me and at some point I get stressed about it. I Felt that the constancy of blogging fell quite a bit , and also found some difficulties to express my thoughts , grammatically and as personal experience.

During the first brief ( Ideas Pictures) I was quite surprise of how my illustrations turned out at the end . I was very unsecure about producing them using photoshop, which I understand but I do not have high skills on it.

The outcomes really surprised me and the feedbacks I received from tutors and peers really encouraged me to keep practicing my digital skills. All the roughs and thumbnails I made in the development was a success and it really contribute on the outcomes. On the other hand, working under the format’s restrictions ( 2 colours, size,etc) it kind of change the way I see my work now. I always use lots of colours in my work, but after this brief, I learnt that sometimes colour limitation can transmit ideas better, and the colour balance found in the image Is a important factor to consider when making art.

The second brief ( Printed pictures) was the most intense one , and also where you can find most experimentation from the rest. I corroborate myself once again , that monoprint is still the less interesting process based on my practice. That linocut, regardless my frustration to some of the test prints, I see the potential that can be done and I would love to repeat this process for future briefs. And the last, screen print is still my favorite. I’m a little bit disappointed with my final outcomes as no even one , was made as I expected to be. I would love to reprint them again digitally and to keep it cleaner that I had. However, I think I spent time in the workshop which leaded me to a considerable amount of work .

I found the last brief (moving pictures) very unusual , but at the same time inspiring, as I learnt a valuable knowledge on After Effects software. In comparison with the other modules, I felt like I haven’t done that much development work. It is true that half of the work was taken from studio brief 2 , still ,some more development could have been done. However, I understand the basic of how to animated an image, which I don’t know if I’ll use it by now, but I’m grateful for possess this knowledge regardless the future.
