In order to improve, work harder ď Ź

Since a very early age, I've been listening to this phrase multiple times over my artistic progression from my father, tutors, friends and professional artists. They don't say it for no reason. Is never enough about art. If I want to become better at what I do, I should spend all my time working on my images. And when I may think I had enough, I should do couple more just to be sure

Understanding of specific formats on briefs ď Ź

ď Ź

During my progression through the module, I learnt the importance of stick to the format restrictions given on every project. Before this course, I never listen to rules of any type and just wanted to do my own art using my own rules. If I learn how to follow format restrictions at this point, it will be very convenient once we finish uni and starting to work on specific projects for clients, which they will set some requirements rules to start with.

Time-Managament Time management has always been a problem for me. I started to organize myself during the first part of the course pretty well although after Christmas break I noticed that I struggled more often now about submissions dates and working on briefs. I guess that I didn't prepare my time management properly after the break and now I still can feel that pressure on my shoulders. The main problem is that I get distracted too easily when I'm working on the computer for further research or using digital programs which lead me to sneaky look at the internet for some entertainment . In order to defeat this bad habit of me, I will do a weekly planning schedule from now on until the end of the course and hopefuly , by having some rules , it will correct this routine of me

Improvement of analyzing skills Self-evaluations, group crits and silent crits really helped me to analyse artwork better. Not only others because I think that may be the easy part, but also myself.

A wide range of professional opportunities Big Heads showed me that illustration can be presented in hundred ways and shapes, and not only on a paper. Therefore, there is no limits for our imagination and how can we apply it on the future.

Personal art-work Working on briefs for the course is crucial but it is also important to appreciate yourself and find some spare time to keep working on your own personal work outside college.

Thinking outside the box Different briefs following formats and media restrictions really helped me to think differently how to approach to solve the problems given. This is very useful as I felt like I was stuck in my own style

Fear of Digital media One of my biggest fear when I started the course was that it was too late for me to improve my digital skills which I was wrong. I've pushed myself in some of the briefs to be brave and work using digital media.

Research is the key I learned that by doing research priori a brief, the final outcome will be more successful as the background knowledge is clearly visible.

What illustration actually means Last but not least, during my time in this course I learned the most important thing for me, the real meaning of illustration.
