I started my visual response doing what I like the most , character designs. Still wasn't sure what my visual journal would look like, so I decided that my starting point will be something that I enjoy to do. Caricatures.Especially, Political .

I started to explore in depth caricatures and producing more artwork focus on political cartoons. Some satirical features started to appear involuntary, so I kept pushing that direction.

I was enjoying drawing political cartoons. But something was missing. The poor context behind it made question myself. Did I chose the right question for the essay? Will I be able to produce an essay and enough artwork ?

I had difficult times and almost lost the track on this module, but I decided to get away from political cartoons and focus more on Satire. That is when I started to use South Park as example of satire. It really changed my path and placed me on the right track.

Tutorials and feedbacks really helped me with my essay and visual Journal. South Park was a win on my trajectory although I couldn't include them to analyse. I Just needed some artist inspiration

In the meanwhile , I keep pushing my art through satire and produce some more work to don't get rusty . I started a series of illustrations called “Society where I represented the injustices and atrocities of humankind on paper.

Doing some research about satirical illustrations, I discovered John Holcroft (Sheffield). A local artists that his artwork represented all I wanted to do on my sketchbook.I picked him to be the artist I want to talk on my essay.

Although I though John Holcroft would be the one, something wasn't right. Studying the satirical techniques on my essay I discovered that Holcroft didn't really fit with the ones I wanted to talk about, so I changed the artist. The good side is, I found Pawel Kuczynski, which his artwork perfectly matched with my satirical techniques.

FINALLY, the essay was done.

And I had the time to go back to my journal ( Now that I have all the satire techniques, theories and devices still fresh in my mind) and produce more artwork !

Having the essay completed really gave me time to produce more artwork.I keep drawing illustrations following the “Society series I did previously. The more I drew, the more I have to think about ideas, and the visual communication improved from the beginning to the end. I'm glad that I didn't change my essay topic at the end because working on satirical illustration brought me some fresh air for my personal skills that I'm glad to show.
