BA Completion Project


What is PATH?

Promoting Achievement Through Higher Education (PATH) SFSU BA Completion Project was developed to support individuals currently in the early childhood education (ECE) workforce or those interested in the field of ECE to obtain their Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Adolescent Development from San Francisco State University. PATH ensures that students’ needs are met to finish their degree through personalized support for college success including in-class academic support, a class schedule convenient to the working professional and structured pathway.

Who can apply? • • •

Transfer eligible and are planning to apply to SFSU to attain a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Development Current SFSU Child and Adolescent Development majors who will have junior status and still have a majority of the majors in their classes to complete You have a willingness to work at least 20 hours a week in an ECE setting

How long is the program? The PATH program at SF State is designed to take two years to complete.


What are the benefits of the program? •

Evening and weekend program model for working ECE professionals Courses are scheduled to meet every other weekend on Friday evening (approx.. 5:30-10) and Saturdays (approx.. 8:30-6) – allowing you the flexibility to work and still make progress towards your degree. Structured pathway with a guaranteed spot in CAD major coursework to help you graduate in a timely manner. Coursework support such as tutoring and mentoring

How do I apply to PATH? Students must complete the PATH application and be transferring to SFSU or are currently enrolled at SFSU as a CAD major. Our application can be found online at our website: http://cad.sfsu.edu/path/apply

How do I finance my education? We encourage students to apply for financial aid. For more information on financial aid please visit SFSU’s website: http://www.sfsu.edu/~finaid Additional funding may be available for students with teaching permits through the SF IDEA Program (formerly SF CARES).
