CBD oil has become a popular solution for a great number of people, who are using it for various purposes. In essence, CBD is cannabinoid – a chemical present in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, which is another chemical of the plant, CBD doesn’t affect the body and mind the same way. Therefore, it is good to know that CBD is nothing like marijuana. As a matter of fact, more and more research is being conducted on whether the substance can be used to address inflammation and severe pain from surgery or just chronic conditions, among other such unpleasant problems. As such, CBD has made its way on the market, in the form of oil extracted from the cannabis plant. First-time buyers of such products need to consider the following:
How much THC does the CBD product contain? – THC, as it was already mentioned, is a psychoactive cannabinoid, which affects the human body and gives the person an elevated feeling. At first, you may not think much about whether the product you are about to purchase contains trace amounts of THC, but taking that could have serious ramifications. For example, it matters a lot just how much of the substance is in the product because it can show on drug tests. If you are an operator of heavy machinery or fall into any such category, you will want to keep THC to a minimum. A CBD product should contain very little THC (less than 0.05%) so that you are at ease knowing you put no THC in your body.
The hemp that CBD is derived from – the plant from which CBD is made – Hemp – falls in the category of bioaccumulators. What this means is that in addition to absorbing useful nutrients from the soil, water and air, it also absorbs the bad. Thus, it is essential to know where the product comes from. It should be pesticide-free and organically-grown so that you know the product is pure and clean. CBD concentration – because CBD is what you are paying for, you should see to it that the product is not ‘watered down.’ The concentration may vary, depending on what product you are getting and what brand it is. 400 grams of CBD in about 10ml of hemp seed is a decent guideline. Less than that will probably not serve your needs. How does the manufacturer extract the CBD? – The extraction of CBD from hemp is not a straightforward process. You cannot simply squeeze it out the same way you would do with orange juice. There are different methods, not all of which are completely safe. For instance, one method is through carbon dioxide under pressure and low temperature. Other methods involve harsh solvents, which introduce the risk of leaving a residue within the product. If you want pure CBD product, you need to do research on the extraction method. Are there any 3rd party laboratory results? – For the product to be 100% safe and viable, in addition to the claims of the manufacturer, you should see to it that there are 3rd party lab results. An independent laboratory can do tests on pesticides, residue, bacteria, heavy metals and potency of the cannabinoid That is a sure way to know what you are buying. How transparent is the company? – Numerous problems come with a company that isn’t fully transparent. You want to buy any CBD products from a company that sells them legally and is accountable for them.
It is a good idea to consider all of that before you buy any CBD product. Only then can you guarantee that the product you are getting is the right one for your needs. If you wish to expand your knowledge on CBD products, MariPharm can happily oblige. © MariPharm
