Methods of Extraction of CBD Oil

Perhaps you have already done some research on CBD oil and how you can use it in your everyday life. There is a lot of research involving such products and what they bring to the table in terms of health and wellbeing. CBD oil products are all made from plants that are rich in Cannabinoids. These are compounds found in the plant, particularly in the buds. Then comes the extraction process, which often takes many forms. All extraction methods essentially share one purpose: getting the CBD compounds from the plant in a highly concentrated form. Each extraction method features some benefits and drawbacks, and it is important to know which one was used to make the product you are after. This article aims to shed some light on the process and make you more informed on the matter.

1. Ethanol extraction Many cultures have used ethanol to extract different compounds from plants for medicinal purposes. The ethanol-based tinctures usually make for a homemade remedy, although the extraction method itself has recently resurfaced. The idea is that while many homemade tinctures come in equal power to the plant, concentrated versions of the tincture hold more power. Food-grade grain alcohol aids the production of CBD-rich oil. To create the product, cannabis flowers require some soaking in ethanol. After agitating and straining, the oil gets heated, creating a thick compound. The resulting products contain a full spectrum of cannabinoids, which usually means THC as well. Because of this, dosage with that kind of product plays a significant role.
