Laura’s Port Pick: Castries (St. Lucia) While the pretty port of St. Lucia sees its fair share of visitors, this verdant isle remains largely unspoiled, thanks to the locals’ commitment to protecting its rain forests and other natural resources. In fact, a good chunk of the island (approximately 19,000 acres) is protected as part of the St. Lucia National Rain Forest. But beyond its natural beauty and heavenly beaches, this tiny island-nation also offers up lots of cultural and cosmopolitan color, particularly in the area around Castries, the lively capital city.

Tina’s Port Pick: Cozumel, Mexico Cozumel may be small in stature— it’s just 28 miles long and 10 miles wide—but this diminutive tropical retreat punches above its weight when it comes to attractions, both natural and man-made. Aside from great shopping—you can cut some sweet deals on things like Mexican handicrafts, jewelry and other souvenirs—Cozumel offers incredibly diverse options for watersports aficionados, thanks to its proximity to the world’s second-largest barrier reef.
