TIME
The North provinces are: Salta, Jujuy, Formosa, Catamarca. The Cuyo provinces are: La Rioja, San Juan, San Luis, Mendoza.
MEN In the region of North and Cuyo men used to wear ponchos (A piece of cloth with a hole to put over the head that covers the chest and part of the arms). They wore trousers made of leather from the cows and horse skin.
They wore colorful hats made of cotton, the colors they usually wore were yellow, blue, green, orange.
There were two types of shoes, one made of leather and the other one was made by cutting the leg of a horse ,then taking out the bones and flesh so they could put their feet on.
WOMEN Women wore long dresses which reached their feet . These dresses were made of cotton and the usual colors were yellow, red and white. They also wore a poncho like the men. They wore yellow or brownish hats. In addition, they wore black shoes that weren´t as long as men´s.
PRE-COLONIAL TIMES Before the arrival of the Spanish conquerors, there were a lot of native peoples living in these regions of Argentina. We are not going to bore you with history, we are going to talk about their fashion.
Diaguitas They wore the "Peruvian shirt", a Tunan (like a large tunic). They wore sandals. Also, they were adorned with face painting, tattoos, bracelets, pins, and breastplates made of copper or bronze.

Calchaquies Their clothing consisted of a shirt that reached below the knee and sometimes it was girded at the waist to avoid tripping. The feet were protected by sandals called flip-flops. Their weapons were huge and showed the warriors’ ferocious attitude towards their neighbours as well as with the conquerors. They used stone axes and bows and arrows. This is one of the great Calchaqui warriors.
Clothes in the Pampeana area The climate of the Pampas is generally temperate, gradually giving way to a more subtropical climate in the north, and to a semi-arid climate on the western fringes. Summer temperatures are more uniform than winter temperatures, generally range from 28 to 33 °C (82 to 91 °F) during the day. Winters are generally mild, although cold waves to occur. Normal temperatures range from 12 to 19 °C during the day.
Pre-Colonial times
Tehuelches: This indigenous tribu lived in the south of Argentina. Their clothes were based on animal’s skin; they painted their bodies and used feathers on their heads. They used headband on their heads called "cochel" made of wool or cotton, and white paint on their long hair.
Pampas: Men wore animal skins and woven by women. Women and men liked to wear objects of silver and copper. Also they wear lot of colours and feathers in their hair. Women used to wear plaits. They didn´t use tattoos but they used ear rings and necklaces.
Colonial times Tehuelches: As they were nomads, they lived in `wigwams' covered with seal´s skin. Although the low temperatures, they didn´t too much clothes. They sometimes wear leather´s coats. Women wear skirts.
QuerandĂes: Men wore leather coats. The women also use a kind of skirt that covered them up to the knees. When the Spanish men came they started using horses and leather boots. They obtained their clothes through exchange
People´s clothes in Patagonia Pre-Colonial times The men were between 1.75 and 1.80 meters average, their body was slender, and they had straight, black hair and hard, skin inward , sometimes the outside painted (quillangos), also used the skin of foxes and hares. The men put on their feet a kind of sandals (guanaco skins strapped) or horseback riding, boots made with hocks of that. With time and with their relationship with the white man, they were adopting gender clothes.They used clothes from neck to feet, were predominantly leather guanaco, they used skin inward , sometimes the outside painted (quillangos), also used the skin of foxes and hares. Clothing: consisted of a mantle of guanaco skins sewn; also wore moccasins and leather leggings. Women wore long necklaces of shells or bird eggs. Painted their bodies with red, black, white and yellow colors. Sometimes, women and wore an apron or skirtish furles Belting body and hip, reaching the knee.
Colonial times Brittany shirts, wide or narrow, weaved with black silk or silk Tancay and other roan weaved with blue cotton yarn, other than cotton canvas, and Brittany : skirts of different fabrics and bright colors (colored, green, etc) and with embroidery and stripes on the bottom.; canvas petticoats; clenchers of bodices; Squeegee Castilla shawls, embroidered or braided and without them, in green, blue

Modern times
Today people who live in the Patagonia wear some trousers called ‘ bombachas’. These are flared wide pants tied around the ankles. They usually wear striking belts around the hip. They wear shirts and a handkerchief. Also, they have a garment called ‘poncho,’ whici is worn when it’s cold. For their feet they wear some shoes called ‘alpargatas’ .
Also some people who lived in the Patagonia wore high knee boots called ‘bota de potro’. These were riding boots made of high quality Argentinian leather.
These are the typical hats they wore in everyday life to protect themselves from the harming sun.
Modern times
We usually wear jeans or shorts of different colours with jackets for everyday life. When we do sports we wear sneakers and tights, which are very comfortable
At parties girls wear skirts with sleeveless shirts or dresses
with high heels.
This type of shoes is in fashion particularly now.
As for boys, they wear trousers and shirts.
For shoewear the tendency is to wear sportsshoes all the time.
