DECORATION FOR CELEBRATION
The Brief Design an entertaining ,aesthetically pleasing, and educational smart phone app for children. My goal was: Create sets of backgrounds for the each holiday Come up with the sets of icons that will take part in navigation of UI. Design at least 4 workshops which could be easy to tutor within the limits of application, and target different audience by levels of intricacy and difficulty.
The Solution The app, “Decoration for Celebration” is made for children ages 4 and up and provides them with tools that can be used for designing and decorating items for a variety of holidays. Children can challenge their creative skills decorating “room of today” via virtual workshops.

Project: Decoration for Celebration
I was always imagined how nice it would be to have Christmas tree whole year and practice decorating it differently every time, but having just holidays would make my app seasonal,so I come up with another version that would help increase usability of my app. The app offers both seasonal holiday decoration and design for every day. My holiday’s category will include mini matching games mode as well as Decorate and Design mode the only addition will be wedding and birthday events. Another innovation is workshop where you will repeat the steps.

Many will argue that there is no such a thing as destiny, and predetermination. I’ll not disagree we are making choices and our choices shape our destiny but even one year old if you look closely have a very defined character. Many would say it is genes, but what else ? I believe our year of birth, zodiac sign name, and even location has something to do with who we are as well. Scorpio is not just a pure Scorpio his moon may be in Cancer- and sun in Lio. Moon is emotions and Sun is how we project ourselves. That what makes one Scorpio very different from another.
What is purpose of life? For someone is looks like Maslow’s Hierarchy Pyramid chart for someone else life may be deeper spiritual journey they meditate and try to reach stage where they are whole with the Universe. Almost every ancient culture has some spiritual practices. Is it a coincidence? Maslow’s chart look a lot like picture of chacras I implemented that hierarchy in my design. From the least important on ID information builds up to most important, and design become more complex.

DREAMMATE
The Brief The goal for that project was design an aesthetically pleasing app with intuitive navigation and extra features that wouldn’t overcomplicate UI. I was aiming to achieve ethereal and elegant look . I design the single background and semi-transparent windows. I used elements from the photographs of the unique places I have been to create this background. I looked through lots of images for inspiration and made extensive research.
My Inspiration The Dreammate is good for anyone who is interested in improving their dreaming experience through tracking. This app help users to explore their subconsciousness and connect the symbols they see in their dreams with real events. The aditional features include; translation into foreign language, voice -to- text translation, binaural waves and custumizable alarm.

Project: Dreammate
Design Process I had lots of things to consider before I even begin to design Dreammate app. My design process wasn’t exactly smooth from the beginning because I had to consider not only failure and success of the competing apps but also actually download and use those apps and read user’s critics on each of them. I also had to use intelligent guesses and sort out the user’s compliments and complain and divided them on four main categories. First category: The people who leave positive feedbacks, but they didn’t really explore the app yet, however they are excited about the idea. Second category: people who used app for quite some time and talk about the features like they know app in and out and explain why it works for them. Third category: People who live negative feedback after using apps only few times and very often it sounds like they really didn’t followed the instructions. Fourth category: these customers not only know what they talking about but offer constrictive criticism and smart suggestions.
The Solution People were either unhappy with the limitation of options or talked about overtly complicated and confusing design. I tried to solve that problem by making design simple but with additional options for advanced users that could be skipped without harming functionality overall. I also made the observation that users do not change settings all that often, so putting majority of the customized features on one screen makes it heavy and led to confusion as I notice it is happening in Singularity Experience app. But assigning just few functions per screen makes screen less handy. So I give user choice what they can keep and what can be temporary minimized.

BANNED AND CHALLENGED BOOKS
The Brief My objective for that project was to design and develop infographics based on the information form the The American Library Association “Banned and Most Challenged Books. The goal was to show the top banned and challenges books for at least past 10 years and explain based on what reasons they were selected by The American Library Association. Banned and Most Challenged Books may be interesting for people care for the freedom of speech, as well for the concerned parents and high school and college students who interested in reading some of these books . They will learn the difference between the banned and challenged books and based on what criteria books were picked. They will also clearly the statistics and how reasons for banding have been changing over time. The outcome of the project is interesting, well organized and visually engaging data visualization. It will be 4 pages spread 8.5x11.

TOP CHALLENGED CLASSIC BOOK
Do you know that every day, all across the US, one of our most basic freedoms—the right to read—is in danger? Each year, the American Library Association’s (ALA) office–Office for Intellectual Freedom completes a list of the top ten most frequently challenged books in order to keep public awareness about censorship in libraries and schools. The ALA’s mission is to condemn censorship and work to ensure free access to information about the books that have been challenged, restricted, removed, or banned. Challenges are frequently motivated by the desire to protect children.A challenge is defined as a formal, written complaint, filed with a library or school requesting materials be removed because of inappropriateness and many other reasons. Although the intent is commendable and reasonable, the method of protection contains hazards far greater than exposure to the “evil” content against which it is leveled.
Although the intent is commendable and reasonable, the method of protection contains hazards far greater than exposure to the “evil” content against which it is leveled. U.S. Supreme Court Justice William Brennan, in Texas v. Johnson, said, “If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that the Government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive or disagreeable”. Individuals shouldn’t call on government or public agencies in order to prevent others from reading or viewing unwanted material they may rather restrict what they themselves or their children read. Attempts to censor can lead the way to restriction of expression by those people who seek to avoid controversy; thus, material may not even be purchased for publishing by bookstores or libraries at all. Censorship attempts threaten and undermine our freedom to read.

The number of books challegend each year varies from 307 to 464. The authors of banned and challenges books are listed yearly on ALA’s website along with the most frequently challenged authors of color. Dav Pilkey, Sherman Alexie, Jay Asher, E.L. James, Ellen Hopkins, Jimmy Santiago Baca, Patricia Polacco, John Green, Luis Alberto Urrea, Alvin Schwartz and Dagberto Glib made the top of the 2012 list. So it is quite surprising that some of the books that appear on the top of The Greatest Books’ list according to http://thegreatestbooks.org are also ended up on the top twelve ALA’s challenged list. These books are The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ulysses by James Joyce and Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. The list of Library of Congress also place few more banned and challenges books on their Books that Shaped America list: these books are J. D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye and Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird.

DRUG/ALCOHOL SMOCKING
OIF has been collecting data about banned books since 1990, so they only have lists of frequently challenged books or authors since that date. The leading reason for challenging books is sexually explicit material, followed by offensive language, unsuited to age group category, violence and homosexuality. Compare to the reasons listed above, fewer books were challenged due to "occult" or "Satanic" themes, yet they holding the 7th place on the list. One of the examples, surprisengly is the Harry Potter (series), by J.K. Rowling. Another book that exemplifies the challenge based on “religious viewpoint” is The Golden Compass, by Philip Pullman. The Perks of Being A Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky is listed in "anti-family" category, although, this book also combines the most of the other reasons for being challenged. Most of the challenge attempts were made in school libraries, followed by classrooms and public Libraries. The vastmajority of challenges were initiated by parents, patrons and administrators.
