About This Project This project is the reconstruction of a catering located in the old part of Isfahan. It used to be a three-story restaurant in which the kitchen was in the basement, the management and reception parts were on the ground floor and the dining hall was on the first floor. For avoiding any extra expenses, we have preserved this structure

Section B-B About This Project The design of this restaurant/catering is an example of entangling modern architecture within traditional Persian/Middle Eastern style. The elongated geometry of the building, combined with an arc ceiling pathway submerges the visitor into a nostalgic feeling of the past. The brick finish of the walls and entrance from alleys at the two ends follows the style of old bazaar around the building. The main challenge here was to create a sharp contrast between modern and traditional architecture while keeping a pleasant feeling in the space. The large collection of Persian dishes and their recipes on the display along the corridor also invite the visitor into expecting a good experience with food. As a favorite place for locals, as well as foreign tourist, the straits at the end of the corridor allows the visitor to review all the options before walking up to second floor and ordering at the table.

About This Project 1-Entrance 2-Waiting Area 3-Reception 4-Pantry 5-Public Rest Room 6-Consultation Room 1 7-Public Rest Room 8-Obgyn Exam Room 9-Consultation Room 2

Prior to renovation, this space has been an old office with a hallway, three rooms, a pantry and a bathroom, lacking any conceptual design, proper lighting or optimum layout. A major shortcoming of the layout was the location of bathroom which was located at the center of the waiting area, with minimum relocation flexibility due to plumbing structure. The old design also violated the requirement that waiting room should not have a direct view to the women's examination rooms. The main idea behind the new layout design was to address these issues. By placing vertical stainless steel pipes around the waiting area, not only we covered the entrance to the examination rooms, as well as the bathroom which was now moved to the corner, but we also managed to create a different atmosphere in the waiting area. The combination of the lighting implemented within the metal pipe structure and the wall paintings, distinguished the waiting room from the examination and consultation rooms.

Pediatric Dental Clinic

Axon Effective Design | 2018 | Isfahan Client: Ahmad Mousavi Design: Marjan Sadeghian Supervision: Marjan Sadeghian Total built area: 130 m2

About This Project

About This Project This Pediatric dental clinic is located in the basement of a 4-story building at the medical district of Isfahan. Being below the ground level, and having only one source of natural light from the south side, our main concern was to extend this natural light as much through the unit as possible. The other limitation was the location of the original washroom that could not be moved due to plumbing structure of the building. To remedy these limitations, we designed the main office area as an extended quadrangle box along the west side of the unit with glass walls. This design not only allowed public access to the washroom, but also provided natural light to expand all the way to the north side of the unit. As an extra bonus, the glass walls allowed graphic design on them suitable for children to provide a more friendly and warm environment for these young patients. The reception area was designed to be located at the north end with a slightly rotated angle, facing the waiting area, the entrance and also overlooking the hallway to the multiple dentist rooms. This design also created a more spacious area for the receptionist.

Dental Clinic

Logical Process in Architectural Design | 2014 | Isfahan Client: Saied Sadeghian Design Team: Elham Geramizadeh, Ehsan Hosseini, Marjan Sadeghian Total built area: 185 m2

About This Project The dental clinic is located on the fourth level of a 4-story building at the corner of a busy intersection in the city of Isfahan. The original layout, and existing window installments limited our flexibility for designing a new layout suitable for the medical center arrangements To address this problem, we defined a green area around the borders of the unit and designed the new layout accordingly. Addition of this greenery area created a more pleasant outside view across the internal space and also served as an extra sound isolation against the busy intersection outside. A portion of the green area was extended further inward to create a practical semi open space. We further complemented this semi open space concept by removing parts of the ceiling and opening it up to a sky view. The internal design was inspired by creating an impression of the living organisms and feel of fluidity.
