Around some of the cities there is visible decrease of production and many vacant sites are shown. That suggests some of the urban settlements create better opportunities for industry to develop and remain in the area than others. Among dispersed locations many unoccupied buildings are present, though they are not the majority of them.

There is no visible relationship between vacant industrial sites and water system. Abandoning production sites is more connected to the needs and opportunities created by urban settlements. Unused sites close to the rivers creates great opportunity for restructuring, refunctioning and increasing attractiveness of water environment.
