INDUSTRIAL TYPOLOGIES

Data: Geofabrik.de, 2018. Author’s work based on Google Maps.

For better organisation and understanding leading processes, the division of industrial sites was established. Typology is divided into three groups: dispersed single industry, linear industrial clusters, zone industrial clusters. The map presenting industrial sites reveal, that major part of them organise into bigger groups and are covering appointed areas. Those clusters are mainly organised close to the cities and smaller towns, where they form zones. Moreover, alongside major transit roads industrial sites create linear groups. Those two typologies are clearly more connected to built environment and cooperates with transportation system. Against that arrangement is dispersed production, which is mainly located between urban settlements and near less significant roads.
