CSR PROJECTS
Introducing the use of community projects for personal and team development Businesses and organisations are increasingly looking to the wider community to meet their social aims, developmental needs and an opportunity to give something back. This has created a significant demand for using community / charitable projects as team development exercises. A demand that Across the Divide is well placed to meet. We combine our expertise of running corporate events, expeditions and community projects with our intimate knowledge of the charitable sector, to offer unrivalled experience in this field. Our associate team have a proven history of applying this form of learning and development. Aims have ranged from team building and leadership development, to change management and motivational incentives. The use of community based projects has real risk and is of real consequence. It therefore engages participants and carries a focus on personal, team and corporate values never really seen before in conventional training. With real time and resource considerations, the projects present deliverable objectives by which participants and teams can measure their own performance. As such, it provides a tangible model for team development at work whilst creating a fun, interactive and engaging atmosphere far removed from the workplace. With our facilitation, the learning and team spirit is real and for the long term.
Good for your business Actions speak louder than words
Having a team of employees deliver a worthwhile project sends a positive message to clients, customers, stakeholders and colleagues about what your organisation believes in, stands for and is willing to invest in. Furthermore, the power and energy created by a group of colleagues who have worked together to deliver a project of real benefit, can transcend organisations. Their personal stories, photos and case studies can raise a huge awareness about what real corporate social responsibility means.
Learning from doing
Our CSR projects provide the perfect environment for a practical learning experience. They involve real people, real risk, real challenges, real output, has real clients/customers and is of real consequence.
Developing teams
Most organisations are structured around teams and their effectiveness is critical to business performance. Whether it is team development, networking or new project team kick off’s, a CSR project is a great environment for developing team performance. It provides an excellent opportunity for working together to achieve an output of real benefit for both the team and the project partner.
Princes Trust made a study of our programs and returned the following analysis “78% of parcipang staff said the challenges improved their team-working skills, and more than 60% found their organisaonal, leadership and communicaons skills improved” “92% of employees surveyed have built stronger relaonships with colleagues by taking part in a challenge”

UK challenge events
We specialise in managing and delivering large scale adventure challenges in the UK. A great example is our ‘Wild Coast Challenge’ designed for Capgemini and the Prince’s Trust. Racing against the clock, thirty teams have just three days to make their way from the north coast of Devon racing via Exmoor to the English Channel using bikes, kayaks, walking and running. The event created a valuable team building and networking opportunity for Capgemini and its customers. It also raised over £100K for the Prince’s Trust. The event was so successful; it is being expanded in 2008 to accommodate additional teams. Our largest UK event to date has carried in excess of 2000 participants.
Overseas challenge events
We design and deliver a number of bespoke overseas challenge events in some the word’s most remote locations. We offer an unrivalled service in providing the planning, co-ordination and the delivery that is required to make these hugely rewarding events successful. With our ability to call upon the services of over 500 associate staff located around the globe and the backup of over 100 doctors; not only are our events superbly planned, but our back up and safety management is second to none.

Your employees can fundraise for their registered charity of choice or your organisation’s chosen ‘charity of the year’ by completing challenges such as trekking the Great Wall of China or climbing to the top of Kilimanjaro. This is a free service we offer to companies and our calendar of events begins with dog sledding in the Arctic and ends with trekking in Ladakh.
Just Walk
Is a new concept and a further product that is free to companies. Your employees can join our one day charity walk on the South Downs and raise money for the registered charity of their choice. The walk covers some of Sussex’s best countryside and last year attracted 600 walkers with a large proportion of the walkers in corporate teams. Find out more here www.just-walk.co.uk
