CSR PROJECTS
Introducing the use of community and environmental projects Businesses and organisations are increasingly looking to the wider community to meet their social aims and an opportunity to give something back. This has created a significant demand for the sourcing, preparing and delivering of worthwhile and sustainable community projects. A demand that Across the Divide is well placed to meet. We combine our expertise of running corporate events, expeditions and community projects with our intimate knowledge of the charitable sector, to offer unrivalled experience in this field. Our team have a proven history of delivering these types of events in the UK and overseas, built up over the last 11 years. Aims have ranged from team building and conference activities to corporate volunteering and the opportunity to make a difference.
Prince’s Trust made a study of our programs and returned the following analysis “92% of employees surveyed have built stronger relaonships with colleagues by taking part in a challenge” “68% of parcipants feel more engaged with their company”
The range of projects and project partners is extensive. It really depends on what you are looking for. There are physical projects that require the team to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and ‘get stuck in’ to achieve something worthwhile. Alternatively, there are projects that are business focussed and require a strategic input. Projects could include landscaping, creating wildlife gardens, working with schools, basic DIY/building projects, painting and decorating or giving a facelift to a community centre. You could choose to work homelessness charities, involvement in sports or environmental projects. You could choose to work with kids groups, elderly groups, wildlife trusts or youth groups. These types of projects are available in the UK and overseas. The use of community based projects has real risk and is of real consequence. It therefore engages participants and carries a focus on personal, team and values never really seen before in corporate events. Our staff team will ensure the experience is memorable, fun and the team spirit is real and for the long term.
Good for your business Actions speak louder than words
Having a team of employees deliver a worthwhile project sends a positive message to employees, colleagues, clients, customers and stakeholders about what your organisation believes in, stands for and is willing to invest in. Furthermore, the spirit and energy created by a group of colleagues who have worked together to deliver a project of real benefit, can transcend organisations. Their personal stories, photos and case studies can raise a huge awareness about what real corporate social responsibility means.
Good for your community project partner Many hands make light work
Whether it is a community group in your local town or a remote project in Africa, the project partners are the real beneficiaries of the events. It is incredible the difference a group of motivated, committed and enthusiastic volunteers can make at the project site. Our role is to manage the relationship between your organisation and the project partner to ensure a successful outcome for all concerned.

“At Tamar we spent a lot of last year thinking about how we as a company can make ourselves sustainable and responsible, and a CSR project was high on our list. Having worked with some of the ‘Across the Divide’ team before on separate projects, we knew how enthuiastic and creative they could be, so we didn’t hesitate to contact them to help make our CSR vision a reality. As well as getting the job done, Across the Divide helped us to makesure our company objectives for the trip were fulfilled as well, making it our most successful CSR project to date” Tanya Goodin, Tamar

Racing against the clock, thirty teams have just three days to make their way from the north coast of Devon racing via Exmoor to the English Channel using bikes, kayaks, walking and running. The event created a valuable team building and networking opportunity for Capgemini and its customers. It also raised over £100K for the Prince’s Trust. The event was so successful; it is being expanded in 2008 to accommodate additional teams. Our largest UK event to date has carried in excess of 2000 participants.

Your employees can fundraise for their registered charity of choice or your organisation’s chosen ‘charity of the year’ by completing challenges such as trekking the Great Wall of China or climbing to the top of Kilimanjaro. This is a free service we offer to companies and our calendar of events begins with dog sledding in the Arctic and ends with trekking in Ladakh.
Just Walk
Is a new concept and a further product that is free to companies. Your employees can join our one day charity walk on the South Downs and raise money for the registered charity of their choice. The walk covers some of Sussex’s best countryside and last year attracted 600 walkers with a large proportion of the walkers in corporate teams. Find out more here www.just-walk.co.uk
