INTRODUCTION SafeU is an app designed for women's personal safety, through abundant prophase research, it redefined dangerous situations that women would encounter with and made its design accordingly. Meanwhile, the volunteers rescue service system were introduced in order to ensure women’s safety to the maxium extent through multi-collaboration.

BACKGROUND Recent years, there has been lots of violence against women going out alone. The safety problem of women is still a serious issue in China.

There are lots of situations women might be in potential danger, so we design various modes for users.

According to observation of target users’ behaviours, we set three ways to trigger SOS quickly.

In the dark, consistent flashlight can blind the perpetrators temporarily, thus to increase the chance of escaping and extend the waiting time for the rescue, while taking photos of the perpetrators for evidence.

The flashlight(consistent flash) increases the chance to escape in the dark. Different sounds can be used to confuse or frighten away the perpetrators. User can also inquire about the safe routes.

Olivia saw the ad of SafeU in the subway on her way to work and downloaded it. When she was working overtime that night, she received safety tips from SafeU.

After getting off the bus, she needed to walk alone for a while. She felt being followed and opened the app, using the simulative calling sound to pretend that she had an phone call coming in, and thus scared the stalker away.

But the stalker didn’t go far. Once he noticed that Olivia hung off the phone, he kept following her. Olivia used flashlight to blind him, buying herself some time to run away. She shaked her phone quickly and triggered SOS.

Emergency contacts received her message and Customer Service sent nearby volunteers to rescue Olivia. Soon later, Olivia got rescued by volunteers and her friends, and the stalker was arrested by the police.

INTRODUCTION Travel to-gather is an app that can create groups to record journeys with friends, making recording journeys easier and classification clearer. Everything in the trip will be remembered and beautiful moments remain forever in heart.


BACKGROUND Nowadays young people like to travel with friends. In order to remember the precious moments of traveling together, recording is becoming more and more essential.

No, my record is complete, but organizing it is always time-consuming. Nevertheless, every time I look at the record, I feel happy and immerse myself in the memories.

I like to collect special items in a trip, for example, tourists tickets, foods invoices(I can know what I ate at that time), and so on. I would stick tickets on my travel diaries, so I can look back on those trips now and then.

I like to record beautiful moments with friends during a trip, and I resonate a lot with travel mates. I would like to use words & photos to record some interesting travel stories during a trip, and my travel mates and I like to share photos & feelings with each other.

I hardly record when I travel. After the trip, I barely recall any memories, and sometimes I regret I don’t have any mementoes, so I would ask my travel mates for some photos and keep them as collection.

I created a journey map based on user research to define and analyzed problems, to find some design opportunities.

PROBLEM DEFINE: Recording/organizing the travelling experience is complex, and it is also not easy to recall the memories after the trip.

STORYBOARD I need to focus~

Mark is an employee of a company. At 7 o 'clock in the morning, shifting touch lights up automatically, reminding him to convert status into the state of work.

At 10:00, the office is noisy. Mark can't concentrate and feels fretful. At this moment, he touches the shifting touch on the table, calming down gradually through touching the round and smooth surface and listening to white noise sound simultaneously.

At 18:30, Mark takes the subway to go home. The carriage is crowded and noisy, and he is still not out of the tension in work. Shifting touch helps him to get into a relaxed status.

Message Hey, I created good white noise today check it and try it, you won’t miss it!

04 COMPANION CUBE

INTRODUCTION Companion cube is an innovative awarding system for kindergarten, aiming to nurture children's creativity and responsibility through interesting gmaes, enable parents to participate in by redeeming awards online, and enhance the communication between teachers and parents.


BACKGROUND Current awarding system of kindergartens in China In China, lots of kindergartens use stickers as awards for children. If a child behaves well or makes some achievements, the teacher would stick one on the wall. The sticker symbolizes honors and appreciations for children and reflects their performance at school, encouraging them to form good habits. However, some problems exist in the current awarding system.

Comparison phenomenon. Some children may be resistant to visible awarding symbols because they can be publicly exhibited.

Lack of communication between teacher and parents Only when parents pick up or send their children to kindergarten do they have the opportunity to communicate with teachers directly. After backing home, they do not talk very often even they have added each other on IM apps like WeChat.

Stickers as awards seem to be boring and monotonous if used too frequently, and they do not actually have practical use.

Awarding system need revolution. I want to know the performance of my child at kindergarten and would like to talk to teacher about his performance at home.

Too many parents picking their children, I don’t have enough time to talk to every one of them.

I interviewed some parents about whether they often communicate with teachers and their opinions about stickers.

I interviewed some teachers about if they often communicate with parents and how they award children with the stickers.

1.My stickers are the least in the class, and I dont’t like stickers at all.

1.Sometimes we only know that children have been praised by teachers and get awards, but we are not clear what they have been praised for, or what kind of progress they have made.

1.There are too many children in a class, and if I didn’t record or talk to their parents immediately, I can't remember all of their performance.

2.My classmate has few stickers in the class, which means she is not a good kid.

2.Sometimes good habits are just temporarily formed under the stimulation of awards, and would vanish without maintenance at home.

2.I don't have much communication with parents, neither do they. Therefore I don't know the kids' performance after class even we have been friends on WeChat.

The amount of stickers becomes self assessment standard of children.

The communication between parents and teachers is insufficient

The stickers on the wall are so public that they can cause children to make comparisons.

Stickers as awards are only effective at school but without continuity after children go home.

After entering kindergarten, each child would have his/her own companion cube, which functions as a companion toy for kids, a seat, and a locker. Children will be awarded with decorations to upgrade their companion cubes, thus to build their own unique companion cubes, converting visible awards into unique companionship.

SOCIAL NEWS More and more people become indifferent in today's society. People turn a blind eye to many things, and social indifference seems to be so normal. More and more social events are showing this cruel fact. Here are some social news about social indifference I’ve found in recent 5 years.

There was a time when I went back to my dormitory and found the hallway was unuaually crowded. A coverlet was on the ground but nobody picked it up. People just detoured indifferently. I was really confused that even if that was such an easy job to relieve the crowdedness
