Ellerslie Playcentre Spring Clean Time with BNZ & Mitre 10 MEGA

A big thank you from Ellerslie Playcentre! Ellerslie Playcentre was lucky to receive a visit from some wonderful people from BNZ at the end of Term 3, who spent the day helping to maintain our centre. We wish to thank the BNZ “Closed for Good volunteer programme for supporting us in keeping our centre clean and tidy, and also Mitre 10 MEGA Mt. Wellington, for kindly donating building materials. All of the gardening and maintenance that

was done has made a huge improvement in the appearance of our centre. Furthermore, the new bark that has been added to our playground and the work that was done on our centre’s fence has made sure our centre continues to be a safe and fun environment for our children. We are grateful for the strong connections Ellerslie Playcentre has with a wide range of community groups and the many people who

are willing to give up their time and energy in order to invest in our children. Ellerslie Playcentre is for children from birth to school age. We follow the early childhood curriculum set in the place by the Ministry of Education but with a Playcentre spin on it! Ellerslie Playcentre welcomes new families so, please email ellerslieplaycentre@hotmail. co.nz or visit our Facebook page for more information.

Ellerslie Kindergarten Grand Re-opening Originally built in 1981, Ellerslie Kindergarten has undergone a major renovation over the past six months. While the builders have been busy on site, the children and teachers have been hosted temporarily within the Horizon Church building. On Monday 2 November the kindergarten held their official re-opening, with a blessing, ribbon cutting, and performances from the Ellerslie Primary School kapa haka group. The kindergarten children also sang some waiata and all our families and guests enjoyed a delicious morning tea. The kindergarten was then opened on the 14 November for any former pupils, neighbours and the community to view the new building.
