Cynthia Rojas’ practice occurs freely – she describes “haphazardly” applying paint and the “intuitive” formation of line. Illusion, too, makesitswayintoRojas’images,assheappliespatternsthatcreate animpressionofembroidery.Theresultisdynamic,leavingevidence ofRojas’expressiveprocess.

Architectural features and aerial landscapes have inspired Rojas’ recent works, drawing on the artist’s annual visits to Mexico. The title of this show highlights the nomadic origins of Rojas’ inspiration.Indeed,itisthecolorfulfacadesofhomesinMexicothat havemostinspiredRojas’recentwork.

Cynthia Rojas has exhibited internationally, including group exhibitionsatCMUGalleryinThailand,theArtHotelGranParadiso inItaly,andthePerishTrustinSanFrancisco.Hersoloexhibitions have taken place at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Branch Gallery in California, and 111 in Osaka, Japan. Rojas has held residencies at ChiangMaiUniversity,MeridianGallery,andothers.
