The John Hymers Bursary Fund

In keeping with the founding principles of Hymers, we are proud to be able to offer a generous Bursary Fund (also known as a Fee Remission Scheme) to enable children to attend Hymers when parents are unable to pay the full fees. Under the Scheme, financial help up to the full value of tuition fees may be available, dependent upon the child’s academic ability and an assessment of the income and assets of the family. As a guide, if family income is below circa £61,500 per year, you may be eligible for some assistance. If family income is below circa £19,500 per year, you may not need to pay any tuition fees. Examples of income for assessment purposes include (but are not limited to) pay from employment, net profit from self-employment, benefits and pensions received. Bursaries are given at the discretion of the Governors and all fee assistance is reassessed on an annual basis.

The Director of Finance will be happy to give confidential advice to existing or prospective parents about their eligibility under the scheme. The Finance team can be contacted on: 01482 470224.
