Entry to Sixth Form
Hymers Junior School pupils transition to our Senior School without the need for an Assessment Day.
Assessment Day
Candidates sit written examinations in English and Mathematics. Prior to the formal examination they are invited into school for a morning and are tested in Numeracy, Vocabulary and Reasoning using a computer-based test. They also sit a Dyslexia screening assessment to help decide whether they need extra time for the written English and Mathematics Papers. Entrants to all year groups will have an interview with the Headmaster, Mr Stanley.

Years 8-10 Pupils born between 1.9.07 - 31.8.10
Admission to our Sixth Form for external applicants is dependent on a minimum of six excellent GCSEs, which should include those subjects that are to be pursued at A Level. All external applicants will be interviewed by the Headmaster, Mr Stanley, and will sit an online test in Verbal, Numerical and Non-Verbal Reasoning. These assessments will test academic potential independent of GCSE results.
