A LEVELS
Alisha Bhandari With an interest in music and sport, Alisha took full advantage of the extra-curricular opportunities on offer throughout her 10 years at Hymers College.
William Duckworth William joined in Year 7 and has been a valued member of the orchestra and choir throughout his years with us.
Alisha studied Biology, Chemistry and Geography at A Level; achieving an A* and two A grades.
To complement his studies, William joined the Debating and Historiography Societies and also undertook an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
Her next step is Queen’s University in Belfast where she will read Medicine.
Following his studies, William has set his sights on reading History at the University of Cambridge.

Ashvin Gupta
Harvey Jowsey
Ashvin joined Hymers in Year 4 and leaves with a clean sweep of A* grades at A Level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. His fantastic results earned him a place at Imperial College London to read Biomedical Engineering.
During Harvey’s ten years at Hymers he has been heavily involved in both the drama and music activities on offer. With a passion for performing, Harvey recently starred in a school production of Sweeney Todd.
Ashvin has been heavily involved in a variety of extra-curricular activities, from participating in 1st team cricket, to playing the French horn. He was also Head Boy in his final year.
Harvey studies Drama, History and Politics at A Level and leaves us with two A* grades and one A. He will first be taking a gap year to teach drama at the Northern Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) with a view to then attend Drama School.
He summarised his time at Hymers as “enjoyable, fun and happy”. “I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved, the hard work really was worth it. My time at Hymers was really fun and I enjoyed every minute.”

Nina Koshy
Majid Panahi
Nina has been at Hymers since Year 4, during her school years she took part in a variety of extra-curricular activities including orchestra, choir and performing in school plays.
Majid joined Hymers College to study for his A Levels and achieved a clean sweep of A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. He also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
Nina studied Spanish, Maths, English Literature and achieved an A* and two A grades at A Level.
Majid made the most of the extracurricular opportunities on offer to him as he played in the school orchestra, performed in the school choir and was a valued member of both the Debating Society and hockey team.
Nina is looking forward to continuing her studies at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. “The whole experience at Hymers has been amazing, I couldn’t imagine completing my school years anywhere else.”
Majid is looking forward to continuing his studies at Imperial College London where he will read Medicine. “I was completely blown away by my Hymers experience. The extra-curricular opportunities were amazing and of such high quality, there were so many opportunities available to me.”

Sameer Sekhri Sameer joined Hymers in Year 4 and has worked consistently hard throughout. Studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A Level, he achieved A*s across the board. “My time at Hymers has been completely worth it and I’m thrilled with what I have achieved.”
Archie Smeaton Archie joined Hymers in Year 12 and studied Maths, Chemistry and Biology at A Level. A keen sportsman, Archie’s extracurricular experiences included playing in the school’s 1st XV rugby squad. He is also a valued member of England’s U18 squad. Archie achieved three A* grades and gained a place at Queen’s College, Cambridge, to read Natural Sciences. “I’d summarise my time at Hymers College as challenging, fun and above all, rewarding.”
Katie Tinker Katie worked extremely hard since joining Hymers in Year 7. Studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A Level, she achieved a clean sweep of A grades. In addition to the responsibility of Head Girl for the 2018/19 academic year, she also took part in netball fixtures and captained the 1st XI hockey team. “Attending Hymers College has been one of the best experiences of my life so far.”
Hasan Quraishi Hasan joined Hymers in Year 10 and has since completed A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science, achieving two A* grades, an A and a B. Taking advantage of the many extracurricular opportunities, Hasan enjoyed playing cricket and also completed the Duke of Edinburgh Award throughout his years with us. Hasan’s next step is to read Computer Science and Maths at university. “The support you receive from the teachers at Hymers is fantastic. It’s a really positive, friendly environment to study in.”
GCSE
Sana Naiman
Rithvik Narendranath
Sana joined Hymers in Year 4 and achieved eight 9s, one 8 and one 7 at GCSE. Sana will be staying at Hymers for her A Levels, studying Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Economics. During her years at Hymers, Sana has been involved with music, sport, debating and has even taken part in public speaking competitions! “The best part about Hymers College is definitely the willingness and helpfulness of the teachers. Not only are they approachable, they always go the extra mile.”
Nuria Shafqat
Nuria is excited to continue her education at Hymers where she will be studying Maths, Economics and Science. “One of the best parts of Hymers College is definitely the support that’s available from both teachers and other students.”

Rithvik achieved an amazing sweep of grade 8s and 9s in recent GCSE examinations. He is continuing his education at Hymers, studying the Sciences and Maths with a view to pursue a career in Medicine.
Adam achieved five 9s, four 8s and a 7 in recent GCSE examinations.
Rithvik enjoys taking part in extracurricular activities offered in both music and sport as he is part of the tennis squad and also plays the violin.
He will continue into Hymers College Sixth Form studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A Level.
Rithvik summarised his time at Hymers so far as “challenging yet rewarding”.
Charlotte Taylor
Nuria has been at Hymers since Year 4 and achieved a set of 8s and 9s. She has been involved in various sporting clubs during her time at school and particularly enjoys badminton and basketball.
Adam O’Toole
Charlotte’s GCSE results consisted of grade 9s across the board. Her next step is Hymers College Sixth Form to study Chemistry, Biology and Latin. Her longerterm goal is to study Biomedical Science at university. Charlotte joined Hymers in Year 4 and has been heavily involved in music and is a member of the school’s orchestra, wind band and choir. “My time at Hymers has been amazing. The teachers are so accommodating and supportive.”

Gemma Wood Gemma joined Hymers in Year 4 and did extremely well in her GCSEs, achieving a fantastic sweep of 8s and 9s. A keen sportswoman, Gemma is a valued member of the hockey team and has also enjoyed playing tennis and netball during her time at school. Gemma is looking forward to studying Spanish, History and English Literature at Hymers College Sixth Form. Gemma described her time at Hymers so far as “positive, exciting and fun”.
