world Book DAY 2020 On Thursday 5th March, the LRC was a hub of activity during lunchtime with a selection of book themed activities to entertain the students and create a love of reading within Hymers.

The activities included creating origami bookmarks, Murder by book mystery, jigsaws, puzzles, quizzes, creating a comic strip and free gifts for students to take away. Students thoroughly enjoyed themselves, particularly creating Origami bookmarks with Mrs Mason and solving the Murder mystery with Miss Tenniswood.

A fun-filled day to celebrate the wonderful world of books!

Accelerated Reader An exceptional start to Accelerated Reader with over 1,300 books read which is over 52 million words since September for both the Junior School and Year 7!

Junior School has read 485 books which equates to over 17,097,557 words with the top reading class 6M and 4H reading over 240 books combined. While Year 7 has read 862 books read in total which equals to over 35,286,093 words with the top reading class 7B reading over 250 books!
