STAFF Reader Ms Needle is the Careers Advisor and Work Experience Coordinator. She is located on the Ground Floor of the LRC. Ms Needle has been working at Hymers College since 2003! Ms Needle’s review of Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell “This book is amazing. It is no easy read but it’s so cleverly constructed, very well written and thought provoking. The book is presented as a series of interlinked narratives written in different styles. In each story, at least one character is the reincarnation of someone from a previous story.
The reader is taken on a journey to a terrifying dystopian future where the economy is managed by cloning slave humans and eventually, greed and evil causes the fall of human society. What might a post-apocalyptic future look like? The mark of a great book for me is one I learn something from and makes me really think. This book is a puzzle that’s well worth solving.”
