Co-Curricular Programme
Senior School 2024-25
Over 100 clubs & activities
Here at Hymers College, we offer over 100 co-curricular clubs/activities ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to explore their interests and to develop new ones.
The programme has been carefully crafted to ensure that it supports our curriculum, inspires a sense of adventure and the courage to try new things, as well as providing a place where our students can make new friends and forge lifelong passions.
+ Give students the opportunity to develop a sense of enjoyment and passion for life
+ Encourage curiosity, critical thinking and a sense of adventure
+ Build individual character, as well as a collaborative community spirit
+ Provides opportunities for students to explore, experiment and excel at different activities
We know how hard it is to work hobbies into busy lives, which is why we offer a range of different time slots, including before and after school, as well as during lunchtimes, which are purposely longer to allow time for co-curricular activities.
To help our pupils to manage their time, we also have a priority timetable, with gives certain activities priority over others during particular time slots.
This means that if, for example, a student is selected for both a drama production and a sports team that they can take part in both without them clashing. It also ensures that they have time slots available to take part of one of the many other activities on offer.
MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY
For the 2024-25 academic year, we have a wide variety of exciting and interesting clubs that students can be involved in. This includes a range of sport, music and drama activities. In some of these, students are selected by staff to represent the school. For instance, as part of sports teams, music evenings and drama productions.
