Andover College offers a wide array of Maths courses. Each subject allows you to develop skills in problem solving, logic and analysing solutions. On top of this, the subject supplements a host of other courses including Physics, Chemistry, Biology as well as Business, Psychology and Computing.

MATHS GCSE (FOUNDATION OR HIGHER TIER)

CERTIFICATE • LEVEL 2 The course aims to give you greater knowledge in essential mathematical skills that can be used in day-to-day activities. We offer two levels: foundation or higher, depending on your current grade and aspirations. It is essential that you are committed to studying Maths at GCSE. This course may be available for you if you are looking to re-sit GCSE Maths alongside your chosen subject(s). ENTRY REQUIREMENTS GCSE Maths at grade 3. WHAT NEXT GCSE Maths at grade 4 is required by many employers and for entry to university. The skills learned in this subject are useful for many areas.

CERTIFICATE • LEVEL 3 Core Mathematics was developed to enable the study of mathematical topics in practical, real-life contexts.

MATHEMATICS

A LEVEL • LEVEL 3 This subject is about working with patterns and structures found in science and technology. From computers and space exploration to body scanners and medicine, understanding these patterns help explain and control natural happenings and situations.

FURTHER MATHS

A LEVEL • LEVEL 3 This subject is designed to broaden your mathematical knowledge and skills and will help you to develop excellent analytical skills that will transfer into whatever area you are considering for a career. It needs to be studied with A Level Mathematics.

STATISTICS

A LEVEL • LEVEL 3 A Level Statistics is designed for students who would like to study a numerate post-16 subject but not wishing to study pure mathematics. It helps you to use and apply statistical analysis to real world data and context. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Five GCSEs at grade 9–4, including a grade 5 in Maths or above. BTEC Level 2 qualifications considered in subject related courses. WHAT NEXT Core Maths is a course that universities have come out in strong support of. Employers from all different sectors are also firmly behind the Core Maths qualification.
