We’re here for you

Starting college and studying a subject that you are passionate about is exciting, but it can be daunting too. We know how important it is to stay focused on your studies but recognise that life can get in the way sometimes. That’s why we have a highly experienced S tudent Wellbeing team to ensure you are able to cope with any obstacles life throws at you and to offer information and support.

The team includes specialist wellbeing practitioners, counsellors and nurses who are dedicated to listening and empowering you to resolve any challenges you might face to enable you to be as successful as possible at college and beyond. From help with relationships to support for young carers, we are always on hand to provide a friendly, non-judgemental service, so if you have any concerns or need support please contact us on wellbeingteamsparsholt@sparsholt.ac.uk

RESIDENTIAL STUDENTS

Our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Residential Support team are here to help make your time at Sparsholt, safe, fun and memorable. We ensure that all residents aged 16–18 are given additional support so that they are fully safeguarded while under our care.

ADDITIONAL LEARNING SUPPORT

We have a dedicated Additional Learning Support team, who want to help you reach your potential. They offer a wide range of support programmes, each tailored to the individual – from in-class support to study workshops. We also work closely with a variety of different partnership agencies to ensure the best experience for our students.

ENGLISH AND MATHS

You will need English and Maths for most jobs and if you want to go on to university. So if you are 16–18 and haven’t achieved a GCSE Level 4/grade C in English or Maths we will provide additional study time for you to re-sit the course alongside your main programme of study. For more information, please see page 52.

MATURE STUDENTS

We have lots of older students at Sparsholt College due to the specialist nature of the courses we offer. Whether you’re returning to study or choosing to retrain with our expert staff in our industry-standard facilities you will not be alone. Come along to an Open Event to discuss the course and your qualifications and experience, funding such as an Advanced Learner Loan, and whether your work experience can count towards your qualification.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Close to the historic city of Winchester, Stonehenge, on the edge of the New Forest and just an hour from London, Sparsholt College has an international reputation and attracts students from across the world. See page 101 for important information about fees and eligibility.
