Staging the Future We’ve been listening to your feedback and have some great plans for the coming year which we would like to share. We have almost achieved the external funding required to complete work on the Connaught Studio and by June it will be beautifully decorated and have new raked seating. Not only will the seats be more comfortable, they will give excellent sightlines for all productions and films. We will be installing a new bar in the studio providing a tailored selection of alcoholic and soft drinks as well as bar snacks. We also have a series of technical improvements for the Pavilion Theatre in development which will support our first Summer of Circus launching this year. Finally, we are aware that our hearing loop system is not as good as it could be, we are therefore in the process of applying for funding to enable us to upgrade our systems to a state-of-the-art offer. Staging the Future is our ongoing programme of works to improve our theatrical spaces… and we’d love you to help us. If you would like to be part of the Connaught Studio refurbishments and become part of Worthing’s theatrical history, we have two great options:

Wave of Stars Your name, dedication or celebration of a friend or loved one will be featured on our Wave of Stars, an artistic sea-inspired mural featuring names in one of four sizes. Your donation of £250, £100, £50 or £25 will ensure your inscription remains on the Connaught Studio wall for at least five years in honour of your gift to the theatre.

Business Benefactors We are also looking for Business Benefactors to sponsor a row of seats. For £1500 your business will be celebrated within the artistic mural, be featured in our seasonal brochures and panto programmes in addition to a receiving a row of tickets (worth up to £450) to use as you wish. Should you require further information about featuring in our Wave of Stars or becoming a Business Benefactor please write to Fundraising and PR Co-ordinator, Connaught Theatre, Union Place, Worthing. BN11 1LG or email gemma.nethersole@adur-worthing.gov.uk

The Pavilion Theatre, Assembly Hall and Connaught Theatre all have a loop system on site, just switch your hearing aid to the T symbol. Headsets are available for the Connaught Studio from the Duty Manager at the time of the performance or event. During some performances it is not possible to operate the loop system. Please contact the box office for further information on 01903 206 206

Assistance Dogs

Worthing Theatres welcomes registered assistance dogs in all areas of the buildings. Please talk to our Box Office Staff with any specific requirements when booking. Patrons are required to sit in areas reserved for wheelchair users to safely accommodate the dog with their owner.

Wheelchair Access & Carer Required

For customers who use wheelchairs we have access to all our venues. We offer one free seat for those accompanying wheelchair users also for customers requiring care or assistance in order to attend an event, please register on our Access Registry (showing proof of disability and need for a carer) to receive a free carer ticket. Advanced booking is advised as spaces are limited, please make any special requirements known at the time of booking.

Due to the age of the Connaught and Studio building, there are some restrictions for wheelchair users at the Connaught Theatre and Studio making larger electronic wheelchairs or electric scooters inaccessible.

Signed and Subtitled Performances

British Sign Language interpreted performances for our deaf and hard of hearing customers are available for specific performances, please check our website or contact the box office team for more information. Subtitled films are normally scheduled for Monday evenings, all details of events, shows and films are on our website within the What’s On section.
