The system also allows two-way communication from any internet enabled PC to the vehicle. This allows the managers of the system to set the maximum vehicle speed of the fleet, reducing fuel costs and reducing the risk of accidents. With Immediate effect Lawrence Jarvis, Regional Business Manager for the North will take over responsibility for the Birchwood service operation. Ian Coulman, Sales Development Manager of the North will assume responsibility for sales.

The team have also been successful in implementing a Specialist Technician role within the business which will increase technical presence and support function across the country, led by Glyn Parker. Glyn will be working over the coming months on an induction and development plan for each of these technicians to allow them to effectively work alongside our engineers to improve our skill levels through coaching and training on a national basis.

The Technical Standards Team have been busy over the past 5 months since their consolidation, making decisions and changes to strengthen the position of Briggs in the marketplace. The team combines the strengths and activities of Technical Training, Technical Support and Warranty Departments including our engineering apprenticeship.

BP Shipping provides the logistics to move BP’s oil and gas cargoes to market as well as marine assurance on everything that floats in the BP group It manages a large fleet of vessels most of which are held on long term operating leases. BP Shipping’s Chartering Teams based in London, Singapore and Chicago also charter third party vessels on both time charter and voyage charter basis. As of the end of 2006 the BP-managed fleet consisted of 57 vessels - four Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), one North Sea shuttle tanker, 42 medium size crude and product carriers, seven liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers and three new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers. All of these ships are double-hulled. We also managed 24 regional vessels, including coasters.

Purely Creative were referred to BP Marine fuels following a 12 month delay in Branding a new division of the business, Azurtane, as 3 large creative agencies had failed to produce what the BP management team visualised. The Purely Creative management team took the initial brief and delivered over 20 initial ideas which they narrowed down internally to three strong possibilities. the management team at BP were impressed with the speed and quality of the work and chose one of the three initial designs. The Purely Team then produced a corporate identity, corporate brochures, exhbition stands and mailers to launch the business to the global market.
