3. The Village Square Creating a functional and attractive heart to Skinningrove is key to regeneration of the village in terms of community, character and economy. The new village square proposal provides seating and a green space. Trees help to soften the existing club building and provide an ideal setting for redevelopment of the club site into a centralised cafe/ retail opportunity. A defined hard space has also been created to provide a platform for the local food growing coop to have a weekly market here. • Incorporates bus turning • Simple materials palette • Greening of space • Screening of club building • Steps create elevated views out over flood defences to incorporate the beck into the square setting
